    enough to go over stuff
Tie rods are not side specific. Toyota can be stupid. I've swapped inners 3 times and outer twice. Use only OEM outers. The aftermarket ones suck.

These are the only inners I have found that last at all besides OEM which are a fortune.

I don't think you can weld them on backwards? The broken piece of the spindle rotated around in the short distance I traveled after it broke, that's may be why it looks weird/backwards.

Haha I went a little crazy myself. Ordered 2 inners from lowrange. Thanks for the recommendation @Mademan925. Those will work well as trail spares.

I also ordered OEM parts. 2 inners, 3 outers, 2 new boots. Cold springs Toyota looked like they had decently better prices than recent quotes from camelback. Ordered there.

Gonna swap current inners with OEM. Just did a driver outer. Swap passenger outer. Then I've got 2 spare 555 inners and two spare OEM outers.

Ok new budget item: spares. Tie rods, spindles, cvs and shafts, looks like about $1500! Yowza.

And, it would seem I'll be a lot closer to that 300# number for leaving the third leaf in on dakars when I get 'em!

Spares could be used ir cheapo parts. Then if you need them yiu have them and can replace with better parts later at home.. you dont need two of everything unless your a die hard and are out there alot or a long way from anything

More shit then I ever planned on doing
Only thing I wouldn't skimp on are the cv's. Spend the money and get them from Toyota. If you do happen to replace one on the trail it's always nice knowing you don't Have to change it out again when you get home.

You guys have a favorite online resource for OEM parts?

I'm already a little worried about the cvs so I will get one for sure. (Or are R and L different??)

I am not trying to go fast or really push it but I am interested in going pretty remote, so low risk but high consequence if something breaks.

    Thx gents!

Some dealerships are cheaper than others and some have separate parts divisions, I've been using Toyota McDonough Parts for mine, cheaper than my local places.

IMO CVs are best acquired from wrecking yards. I think they might be easier/cheaper to get in Socal for some reason, I got mine off a 2015 for $75 a piece, but I've heard they are harder/more expensive to find in NorCal. CVs are NOT side specific.

Inner tie rods-I would get the ones Mademan posted up. I bought 2 OEM inners a month ago for $118 a piece, swapped both out after one of my originals bent and already tweaked one of the new ones I put in.

I'd be curious if anyone has good leads on outers, I haven't had any issues I mine yet, but swapped out my originals with OEMs from McDonough and kept them as spares.

Rear drive shaft - good luck, you need to find a one specific for you trucks configuration, trans, total length, engine. Keep an eye on your local scrap yards or get ready to shell out $850 for a new OEM one.

I dented mine and had it re-tubed. I fucked up though. In a hurry before the DV trip, didn't research, and just asked for "thicker tubing". Mine is now 0.065, instead of the stock 0.060. Should have asked for 0.085 or maybe even 0.120, but I read that thicker walled drive shafts are harder to balance.

A spare would be nice too, but a thicker walled driveshaft may prevent total failure. Mine was about $250 with new U-joints and lengthened 1/2" IIRC.

I think getting thicker walled tubing might be pointless, with a 6000lb truck sliding/bouncing/smacking around on rocks, is an extra .025 of an inch(or whatever) going to make a difference?
