Question about wheel offset

I'm kinda new to the forum but I've been searching and reading topics about offset for quite awhile and I'm not sure I fully understand it.. I have an '05 Tacoma with a 6" Procomp lift and I'm looking to put some 20x9 wheels and 35x12.50 tires on it the problem is I've found two wheels I like and I've looked up the bolt patterns and they both fit in that regard but the both wheels came in a couple different offsets and I don't know what one to get or if they will even work on my truck..

Basically the wheels I want come in the following offsets: 0, 12, 14, 30
I assume all besides 0 are positive offsets and from what I've read I don't want those but then again I don't really know.

Will the 0mm offset work on my truck? And will they be the best option? And last question will the fact that it's not a negative offset effect how far they stick out from the fenders? Or will the tire still stick out just from it being so wide?

About halfway down this page is a chart that converts offset to backspacing.

Most aftermarket wheels are around 4.5" backspacing. 285's (which are over and inch skinnier than what you are considering running) will still rub slightly on a 4.5 BS rim.

From the looks of your pics it seems your wheels now may be a positive or 0 offset. Its hard to say but If you want your wheels to stick out a little further you would want a negative offset. And with a 6 inch lift I would think you want your wheels to stick out! Your wheels should be stamped on the back and it will tell you what you have on yours now.

 

okay thanks that helped. right after i posted this i found one of my wheels is made in a -12mm offset. and i was looking further at the charts on the companies website and it said with a lift 0 would still work with little rubbing. most likely im going to go with the -12mm offset. thats what discount tire recommended.

 

yeah google your wheels and find the cheapest price and they will price match! thats what I did and got $100 off my wheels!
