Maxtrac Spindle Lift for 2nd Gen Prerunners

I get people asking me all the time about leveling kits or 3" lifts. First I ask if it's a Prerunner. Then I suggest maxtracs. I'd suggest maxtracs over a 2" leveling kit all day. Even if it cost a little more and you have to lift the rear also. I loved the ride/look of my old truck with the maxtracs. That stance looks so good

Instead of starting with spacers or something and swapping them out anyways

Seriously! And I won't get started on DB's on a Prerunner but that's not a great idea either. Spindles are so much better then drop brackets.

Patiently waiting to start the new build. The plan is to do a poor mans 12" lift (6" fabtech with coilovers set to 9" and a 3" BL ) and then 38x15.50's on 20x14's

Planning on doing it all at once so I don't look dumb ridding around with too much lift and not enough tire. Just gotta save my penny's for the mean time.

8" lift and 35's wasn't enough for me

Ok guys so I got my 4" maxtracs ordered from headstrong and I've got some 295/70-17 Ridge Grapplers on order at the local tire shop. Did I read earlier that people run 1.25" rear wheel spacers to even up the stance? The maxtracs push the front out .75" right? Is the front wider from the factory?

 

I think from the factory the front and rear track width is the same

I got some off brand 2nd hand spacers from a local memeber for free

Not even sure of the width to be honest, i can figurr that out for ya.

 

People put 1.25" spacers in the rear not to even it up per say but to reduce the difference. I personally did 1.25" spacers in the front and 2" spacers in the rear and that did even them out but I had the stock TRD Sport wheels so I could get away with running spacers that big.

 

Gotcha. Thanks. So if my wheels fit without spacers in the front, all I would need are 3/4" spacers in the back?

 

In theory yes. Don't take my word for this but I believe you have to have atleast a 1" spacer to avoid trimming the factory wheel studs. I would avoid doing that because then that's even less thread contact holding the spacers on. I know the 1.25" fit comfortably without worry. I have 1" spacers (I think) on my new truck but I have not looked too closely at the figment of them

I'm curious how many other people are running spacers on the back only and if so, what size are you using?

 

I'm running 1.25" spacers on the rear only & it looks pretty even to me.

Sorry these are all that I have but here's what 1.25" in the front and 2" in the rear looked like. The rear is actually a tad wider due to the lift. Hard for me to explain but the control arms pull the hub inward as you increase lift due to the circular path the hub travels on. I'm doing a terrible job explaining but anyways.
