im curious as to how they mount on the 3rd gen? I have one that was mounted on a 91 toy pick up. I made brackets that mounted to the front of the box. Not sure if that's possible on a 3rd gen.

Sorry for confusion. It's a hardsided camper, it sleeps 3 people. Not a top cap. I'm not so sure about the bedrails! Side to side sway. I'm afraid it'd rip something apart. It's a hardside camper. Dry weight is 920LB I should be around 1100-1200 LBS when loaded. I'm honestly not sure I'll put it on this truck or not. I do know that palomino makes a truck camper for the 2017 Tacoma. May just visit a dealer to find out how they are mounting

Might check the expedition portal forum.

Pics when done? I'd love a camper setup, but they are too expensive unless you get a deal on as used one.

Thanks I'll check it out. Yes I got it dirt cheap! Old but in fair condition. Nothing I can't fix or rebuild. Here it's sitting on my old frontier. Had to get timbren set up to help it. I'll definitely do the same for the taco. Main reason I wanted the LB

Not that I know what I'm talking about, but I'd think you would bolt it to the frame of the truck.
