X2 Dunflops suck - my truck always skidded around corners in the rain until I bought real tires - don't risk your life with Dunflops if you can afford a good brand. I'm surprised Toyota hasn't had one of those class action law suits over them.

Bridgestone Duelers. 235 x 75. Screaming deal from Costco. If I drove more miles I'd run Michelin defenders. Almost all pavement and packed sand roads/trails

I'm surprised how good the wet grip is on my taco 4x4 trd offroad, running KO2 tires. I have a shell on it which adds a 150 lbs or something to the back, but oftne nada else but me (access cab). sure, I can dump the clutch in 2nd and spin the rear out if I want, but driving sanely, its very sticky.

I bought Michelin's for my wife's Buick and she later gave it to my nephew and he drove it til it rusted out and they were still in good shape. Because of this experience I bought Michelin's for my Truck.

I had a Jeep Liberty with Dunlop tires. Talk about light!!! That thing would get stuck on a banana peel. And everytime I touched the brakes in the rain front wheels would lock up.

Learn to drive. Never had this problem. Now in my supercharged chevy shortwide 5 speed... yes... But I didn't view it as a problem.

No mine handles great so far in rain and wet roads . Better actually than a older S10 I used to drive , that thing would get squirrelly in the wet . FWIW I have Yokohama geo landars and they have about 11k miles on them , so they are relatively new I guess Also my truck is a 6 lug (Does that even make a diff?)

My Tacoma is my third pickup - I had a 65 Chevy and a 2008 Frontier - and all three are prone to rear end slide. It is in my experience a common trait of pickups. Sand bags in the bed is a concession to that fact.

5 lugs have completely different suspension and different gears (I believe mine are 3.55). But as it pertains to handling I have no idea.

I'm down in Florida where it has been raining almost nonstop for 2 weeks and I have had zero issues with my truck and the rear end. I have Michelin LTX M/S2 and i love them. Will certainly replace them with the same.

OP - is this an issue that has just popped up or since you bought your truck? Are your tires the same as when you bought the truck? If not, how did it ride with the previous tires?

I have the same truck and have never had problems with spinning out. Do you have one foot on the brake as you take off or do you floor it at stops? If not then see if your front brakes are grabbing at take off maybe. x10 on better tires.

I bought my truck used from a dealer. It had bald tires so I required them to put new tires on it as part of the sale.
They put the shittiest Chinese tires I have ever seen on it. "Westlake". I would spin the rear if accelerating to fast from a light in the rain, and had no confidence in the snow. Final straw was when I went around a basic turn in the rain and drifted the rear end through the entire turn. The tires were down near the tread bars at 1 yr and 18k miles or so....
I replaced with Hancook Dynapro ATM's and couldn't be happier. I can accelerate hard from a light with no spin, and great in the snow.
I do have a DCLB so defiantly more weight over the bed, but still shouldn't be spinning.

5 lugs have much narrower tires than 6 lugs, so less contact patch, etc.

I have Hankook Dynapro ATM's and constantly spin on wet pavement. They were great at first but not so much anymore. I have bout 35 - 40K miles on the with quite a bit of tread left and they absolutely SUCK on wet pavement.

    Will not buy them again.

Sorry to hear that. I've been happy. My buddy drove through 3 or 4 sets in his Nissan as a traveling sales rep. I have heard of a few people saying they loose the life early, but he said he never experienced it on any of them.
