    2.3l turbo pinto motor and all!

    Wonder if they would have sold it as the Sierra Cossy, if it would have taken off better? Regardless, what a fantastic car!

    Yep.....that "Pinto turbo" engine started out in the Mustang SVO, found it's way to the XR4Ti and eventually to the T-Bird Turbo Coupe.

    Probably a cousin to the existing 2.3 turbo found in the current Mustang.

    There were more than a few transplants into Rangers back in the day too. Suddenly your Ranger had 175+ hp instead of the 90 or so it came from the factory with. :thumbsup:

    They rebuilt it, Fiat 500s are made there now.

    Those were pretty common back in the day. In fact, GM had several tweaked (hotter) versions of the J-bodies in the 80's and into the early 90's

    I would guess most people remember the Monti Carlo SS of the late 80's. Not rare.

    Edit: Back In the 80's, there were a couple 4 clyinder Mustangs.

    Now there's a 2017 turbocharged 2.3L Mustang with 310 hp.

    The thing with the Aztek is that GM is so incredibly proud of it. Besides being completely awful, the car met every deadline set when it was under development. Trying to find the article I read that in, but it was a GM exec calling it a successful failure for that reason alone.
