For those who want to avoid this on your next trip to have work done on the wheels, remove the center caps and leave them at home, and then put a piece of black electrical tape on the wheel next to each lugnut. Not only will this provide some padding against damage, the tech will see that you are picky about it and will be extra cautious.

Conversely, write on your wheels with a whiteboard marker "don't scratch my fucking wheels."

This will let them know you are watching, and will inspect their work when you remove the marker ink later on.

Better yet, do the work yourself if you're that picky about a few little scratches...problem solved.

Looks like the tech got a little too fast with jamming the torque stick onto the lugs! Can confirm am lube tech.

Bought the truck new off the lot Aug 2015 (2 years), undercarriage & frame rustproofed >30 days after getting it, it's parked 5 days a week & only used on weekends, long road trips & in as an emergency replacement when my beater commuter truck is being repaired.

Never driven in the winter/snow,washed weekly............Yea I'm anal & for the fact that I am into it for 36k & still have an open banknote on her,I expect my property to be treated with proper care that I paid for!

Why was it they could do 5/10 & 15k rotations without issue & the 20k looks like a drunk monkey got his hands on it? Because they didn't give a shit & rushed because they most likely paid flat rate.

    I'm talking about center caps.

If you have hub caps then you can always just get new hub caps if they get damaged.

lol hub cap and center cap are the same thing bud...

on our 2nd gens, the center cap is doing just so, covering the hub... a hubcap

i understand what you are thinking though, a wheel cap, commonly called a hubcap as well

New wheels! Not a freakin chance.

Honestly though you will be able to grind them for some free service or goodies but a set of new wheels at OEM price is a few thousand bucks.

I hope my gear looks this good after a couple years. Unlikely though as it is a vehicle I use off road regularly and expect wear and tear.

The wheels don't look bad..... doesn't really look like anything besides a rock or debris hit it while driving. I mean, i wonder what you do when you get scratches under your trucks door handle from people opening and closing the door? Maybe you should just park the truck in the garage and never drive it. That would solve your problem.

Maybe you don't give a shit about your property........good for you!

I deal with custom firearms, that if I damaged them, my truck wouldn't even begin cover the replacement. Maybe it's just wishful thinking to expect people to treat your property as you would.

    No,
It's damage that wasn't there the morning prior to the service. To solve my problem is to not let hacks handle any covered maintenance & do it myself.

I thought about it, No I won't be leaving it again!

Dude, you would really leave your truck at a dealer you felt just screwed up your truck? Ummm, ok.

The amount of anality in this thread is overwhelming.

I'm sorry I have nothing good to contribute to this thread, but surely with that amount of "damage" caused to your rims and how nitpicky you are being about it, that sort of attitude is sure to get you blacklisted from shops within your general area.
