Got my set of 096R's on Monday and they look beefy but I'm glad I planned to pull the pack apart and clean up the paint from the start. The paint was already dinged up pretty good from shipping and after I split the pack open I found that they do the top coat after the assembled it so in between leafs it is only a thin coat of primer, most of which came off with a light rub down of scotchbrite.

Not mad about it because I kind of knew the paint wasn't the best going in and I'm getting the best set of leafs for the price but I'm surprised that it's only light primer in between. Just a note for anyone else that gets them, it might be worth a little extra work on the front end to make them last.

Good info thanks. I actually always have a box back there with about 75lbs of gear. And I camp about once or twice a month with some good weight. Maybe heavy duty is for me after all.

I'm very happy with how these turned out! The ride is perfect as well!

Bottom of fender to center hub measurements:

    23in- Front
    24in- Rear

I will be adding 1" longer shock strut mounts to my rear king shocks to get the full droop back. Also will need to add extended brake lines as well.

Did you have to do the carrier drop? and are your kings the adjustable models if so, what do you have them set to?
    Truck looks amazing now

    Workin' on it....
Are the round grey things the "new" isolator pads between the leaves?

That's where they were resting on the bottom side of the spring, the isolators are little yellow disks on the top side of springs that appear to be made of Teflon impregnated plastic of some kind. The grey circles are just primer where the top coat didn't get to because the isolator was resting against it when the springs were painted after being fully assembled.

Thanks! No, we opted not to do the carrier drop. No vibrations so far (knock on wood). I have the non adjustable Kings for now. When I get them rebuilt I'll have the adjusters added.

So has anyone installed and ran the light duties yet? Curious to hear about the ride, weight handling, and height.

I installed the EL095R / light leaf pack, along with OME shocks, and 885s/OME shocks up front. I picked the light duty after reading ARB's recommendation of light duty for anything under 660lbs constant weight.

Lift was exactly 3" all around immediately after installation. Rear 1" higher than the front, with a Leer canopy on a DCLB. It rides nice, firm with good damping. Not jarring at all. Haven't taken it offroad yet, but it handles washboard pavement well. This coming week I'll try the bike rack with 4 bikes and see how it holds up - that'll be about 180lbs off the hitch.

I posted a picture in the Old Man Emu: Questions, Answers & Pictures thread.

I do get a noise from the front end when the shocks hit full extension - I don't think there's much travel left in the shock for down travel. I'm hoping it'll improve as the coils settle.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks. Good info. I've read about the ome shocks on the front doing that. Pretty common. I went with 5100s and ome 885s. Are you 4x4?

Yes, 4x4. No noise with the 5100s in front?
