For those of you who have had a frame replacement on a 1st Gen., did you receive new leafs as part of the process?? My '04 DC is going in as soon as the frame arrives, and I have seen conflicting statements as to whether they are part of the new parts package. Mine are pretty well shot, so weighing my options. Many thanks!

About the best thing you can do is ask the dealer doing the frame swap.

You are quite correct different dealers seem to install different parts .

It very well might be a labor saving thing

I did it and they changed a lot of parts, including the leafs springs.

Along with the new frame, I got new springs, brake lines, and both chrome bumpers!

Ok, I will ask: "LCAs". Are what?

When my '01 was done in 2012, I declined the OEM leafs because I had done the front and rear suspension the preceding summer. I wanted them to throw the new OEM leafs in the back, but they wouldn't. They would only install them. I didn't want to have to swap mine back in, so I said no. But I did get the LCAs, gas tank skid, brake lines and all the usual misc parts. No bumpers though. Hadn't heard of anyone getting those.

Bummer. My gas tank skid wasn't replaced, and now it's the nastiest, rustiest thing under there! Least I'm gonna do is take it off and blast it and re-paint.

My gas tank skid rusted in two, and fell off a couple of years ago. Replaced with Low Range Off-road. Solid piece, well made and direct bolt on. Highly recommend.

Sorry to thread jack, but for those of us new to the 1st gen crowd... is there some sort of database or number to call to find out of your truck received the frame abatement that resulted in the extension of the frame warranty?

    Thanks

Go to the Toyota Owners site and register your vehicle. You may then review the Toyota service records for the corrosion prevention treatment. Your '01 has aged out of warranty though I'm afraid, even with the treatment (15 years from the original in service date).
