Garmin GPS Mount

Has anyone used this dash mount for the Garmin Nuvi GPS?
Looks alot better than the Beanbag mount, curious if it ever slides off?

I've used the Garmin beanbag, and bought this mount about 2 months ago when they first came out. The bottom of this mount is a "sticky" silicone-like plastic that keeps the mount as secure, if not more secure, than the beanbag. It certainly folds up more compactly than the beanbag. The only complaint I could possibly make is that the "sticky" base attracts everything, including dust and animal hair, and I now store mine in a ziplock bag.

 

going to mount my Garmin in the storage box at the bottom of the stack.

 

As I'm using the built in bluetooth/and the mapping (Navi 780) I'd like to have it on the dashboard and mount the GPS permmanent like on the Nissan Rogue's but can't find the mounting kit they use online, and the bean bag just seems kinda cheesy..

 

I have a Garmin 60CSx and since California law just started to allow suction cup mounts I put mine on the left side of my steering wheel with a window mount.

 

I was going to give this a try. Planning on putting it in the vent between the radio and the steering wheel. For $5 worth the try. Waiting for it to be delivered and while post the results.

Ya, use mine in the truck all the time. Attach it on the left side instead of the center of the windshield.
Doesn't block your driving view and easily accessible that way. Love my Garmin.

 

Just to follow up I got this in the mail yesterday and put it in last night. This thing works great. I had the bean bag mount for my last Garmin and this is so much better. Lines up the Garmin in the dash with every other instrument gauge. Makes looking at the unit just like glancing at the speedo to check your speed.

Highly recommend.

Keeps the unit off the dash where after having one previously I think it doesn't belong. Best $5 I have ever spent. Also, it puts the unit right at your fingertips instead of on the dash where you have to reach to get to it.

I will take a pic of it in the truck this weekend and post how it looks. IMO it beats all the other mounts and locations you could put the GPS.

 

I use the discs tht came with the GPS.i havent had a problem yet.

i have the dash mount and it works fine. it does not slide around at all. i just made sure that there is no dust on the dash where i put it. It is nice that you can form it to the curve on the dash!! pretty cool!

 

I would love to see pics of this! Seems great. I wonder if I could run the cord through the vent instead of it getting in the way of everything??

 

I have a Garmin Zumo 550, which is made for motorcycles. It comes with a car mount also. I then have brackets from http://www.proclipusa.com/
I have a bracket in the car and truck. It allows me to throw it in whichever rig I'm using at the time.

 

Works great here.
less temptation when you can't see it on the windshields. Easy to reach too.

I usually keep mine in the top corner of my windshield.. On either side. But yeah I like the idea of that
