Transmission jerks and engine revs

I got an 08 Prerunner V6 auto with less than a 1000 miles on it. Everytime I put in Drive, it feels like the engine revs and jerks forward. And on some occasions while sitting at a light, the car jerks forward. I feel like this is an accident waiting to happen.

Does this happen to anyone else?
Is it because the car hasn't been broken into?
Advice?

 

is ur A/C on??? these engines are known to do that. just keep ur foot on the brake more firm

 

Ya, I do seem to notice the jerking forward when I'm at a light with the AC on. I almost rear ended a car cuz I was daydreaming. I guess I need a heavier foot on the brake. I'm used to driving a BMW with super sensitive breaks.

Any ideas on the shifting into D? Feels like I have the foot on the gas when it engages and it jumps.

Maybe its all about the transitioning to a truck from a sports sedan.

 

when it happend to me i had to look at the floorboard to see if my big foot was overlapping onto the accelerator. now, as others have said, i just depress the brake harder

 

I've noticed it has happened to me a few times.
jumping at a light, with ac on.

also, i've noticed when you first turn on the ac it makes a
sound like the pully or bearings are froze for a second.

dealer could not reproduce at time of oil change, but i
did make him write it down.
and next oil change he will have to write it down again.

 

get the tranny oil checked..........the 06 i had did this, and when they checked the fluid.....it was a quart low from the factory. the put the quart in, and it was good to go after that. just a heads up that the tranny fluid may be low.
