    Does anyone know of red brake calipers for the 3rd gen tacoma? I can find caliper covers but not actual calipers. Either way, what is the part number for the stock calipers?

    You can paint them yourself. My son did this on his Honda civic...more appropriate on a civic than a tacoma imo.

    Only Tundras got real red TRD calipers, Tacoma never got red calipers. You're best off painting them. I would suggest Black :)

    ^Hell ya. BBK FTW. If you got the coin...
    Otherwise some solid OEM upgrades would be;
    -SS lines
    -Better PADS
    -cross drilled/ or slotted rotors.(does anyone make them ???)

    Doesn't TRD make a big brake kit with red calipers? That might be an option too.

    This, beat me to it for the guy asking about drilled/slotted rotors. I'd just paint them with red paint if you wanted them red. autoanything.com has good pads and rotors that I'll be swapping too shortly.

    You'll see more of a gain with upgraded pads but don't waste money on cross-drilled/slotted rotors.

    OP - Keep in mind that should you decide to spend money on a BBK, you'll more than likely need to upgrade the wheels to accommodate the larger caliper size.

    Unless you buy a big brake kit and it comes with red calipers. If you were dead set on painting your calipers, black would be the only exceptable color. It's a truck, not a sports car

    do what you want, a lot of opinions flying here. I cleaned them with simple green, let them dry, and did a few coats using red rustoleum paint. I liked it.

    Based on his avatar, he does not have the 16" TRD wheels.

    I went with StopTech rotors and EBC Super Green Stuff pads on my 2nd gen. They were fantastic. I also painted my calipers orange...because I am ridiculous.
