Power mode in mine is surprisingly quick. It's faster than my taco for sure

To be clear, I mean the 3rd and 4th gen Prii with the 1.8 liter. The 1st and 2nd gen Prii have a 1.5 that just doesn't have the guff. Still good cars, but the 1.8 is where it's at.

Never driven an electric-mobile have you? Electric motors are instant full torque immediately, no waiting for rpms. Could easily take you for the already mentioned 20 ft or so.

The 1st and 2nd gens gave the Prius the bad name for being slow. But the 3rd gen is quick off the line when set in power mode. Most Prius drivers don't use that setting though....or even know it's there

The G forces that little thing pull when all-electric off the line (before the computer takes over and goes all "safety" on you" are impressive. Definitely will throw you back in your seat.

It's more than 20 feet. In fact, if you get caught flat footed, you probably couldn't catch it.

Keep in mind own both the 4.0 Taco and the Prius. So I know what I'm talking about

Fuck all that saving the planet shit. When I drive it the 1st thing I do is stick it in power mode and drive the piss out of it. But I still manage 35 mpg....somehow :notsure:

Careful now, you might be getting caught in the same problem lots of small diesel owners do. The low-end torque makes them feel faster than they actually are overall. Granted, depends on how long of a distance you go, but even flat footed I have a hard time believing it's true for anything close to a 1/4.

Same, I have had rental Prius' before and do the same and still got close to 40. For what they are I personally do like them, wife hates the look though, so won't have one anytime soon unless I decide I want to give up ride height and a bed.
