It's been a while since I've been on here but I've got a question and I'd hugely appreciate if anyone can answer my question.
About a month and a half ago I was following a trail in my taco and there was a ditch that was in a blind spot and my truck found it. Only thing that is damaged that I know of is my tie rods and possibly struts. I need help figuring out if it is just my tie rods that have bent when it hit , or if it was that plus the steering knuckle or whatever. Any help is appreciated.

just buy some new tie rods for that side and take it to get aligned. the alignment tech will let you know if anything else needs to be done. im not sure about the techs around your area, my buddy that does alignments won't charge full price if the alignment can't be completed, but will charge the remainder and finish the alignment once the issues are resolved.

Ok , then I'll just buy the tie rods and take it back and see what they say. The first time I took it to AmericasTireDepot they didn't charge me. Hopefully this fixes my problem

I have to wonder if the steering Rack has any damage from the impact to the tie rods.

Is the locking nuts broke loose so when they get it up on the Rack they don`t need to fight with those for a hour.

Might be time for Lower Ball joints as well

The locking nuts on the rack and pinion correct? I'll have to take a look at everything again after work

It doesn't look damaged but the rack seems to be leaking. May need a new rack entirely

Any alignment tech will have torches to heat those jamb nuts. Don't worry about them.

Have you looked closely at the lower control arm?

The tie rods and control arm are designed to give way on just your type of accident. They are cheap compared to frame damage.

Interesting you should say that The best alignment shop I found could not break those nuts loose

After trying for an Hour . It could have been how the Rack was made could not get any leverage Then they are clueless about welding

I had to take the truck Home get the nuts off replace with new

Now when I go I break them loose coat with Never Seize no more problems
