Just about to pull the trigger on a Pioneer HU, and am curious what the masses consider a better look for a Double Din.

I currently have a Scosche kit with my Alpine single din and like the look, but if memory serves I think I have heard people mention that the Metra looks better when going to double din.

Bonus points for anyone with pictures of their own Double Din setup!

I like the Black unit's rather then the silver, JMO

As far as brand goes, I used neither. I'll see if i can dig up the receipt and let you know

Oh and sorry for the Sh**y pics,

Mine's textured, almost like a bed liner. I wish i could remember who made it.

I just installed my Eclipse 726E and use the Metra kit. It worked ok. Took a bit of modification to fit the way I wanted it to, but who knows.

I haven't had any problems with my Scosche Double Din kit. Nothing rattles and it was really easy to install.:)

Thats the one i have, where you re-use the stock brackets. Same finish too, IMO it looks the best

I have had both. I had the Scosche first and replaced it because it seemed to rattle while driving. I switched to the metra and had trouble from the start. I had to trim the bottom of it to allow for the screen to fully open. Now every little bump I hit, the clips pop out of the holes. I am not bagging on Metra, I just dont think it fits my HU. I really like the metra more but will be switching back to scosche.

No fitment problems with my Pioneer AVH-4100DVD....I would give it a rating of 4 out of 5 for over-all fit/finish.

I got it off of ebay (model # 99-8214TG for textured silver / model # 99-8214TB for textured black), but you can also get it from places such as Crutchfield.

could be a Metra, the Schoche (sp) ones usually try to look like factory (the bumps on the top like the OE h.u.).

i have a metra. the texture and color matches the factory dash kit. There are a few areas where the kit bulges out a little but it isnt that noticeable. It doesnt make any creaks or noises and is snug. Im happy with it.

Forgive my ignorance, but the metra kit is both in one right? Can be set up as double or single? I know the scosche is two seperate items.

Think I may have to go metra this time around.

Yup...the Metra kit has both in one. The Metra kit allows you to use the metal mounting braces that your stock unit came with when you go double.

Definitely going to try the Metra this time. Now that the weather has warmed up, my single din Scosche has started to squeak, and man is it annoying when you are used to a rock solid quiet truck.
