Anyone remember the Chevy Corvair Rampside? Probably not. Pretty rare....even in the 60s.

Very unique for it's day. Unibody construction, rear mounted air cooled flat 6 engine and rear mounted transaxle.

I had an uncle who had one when I was very young. It was several years old by then. But apparently in pretty good shape.

I saw one at a local car show last year. I liked the side gate idea.

I'm too old. If you eliminate the one-off custom jobs and the pure exotic cars, I probably know people that have owned 75% of the cars shown. We had one of these 1965 Comet wagons. I don't ever recall seeing another wagon like it.

IIRC, thats a badge-mate of the Falcon wagon, and I do remember seeing quite a lot of those back in the day. different headlights, different grill, different fenders but same basic chassis.

I think the Comet shared more with the Fairlane then the Falcon, but I could be wrong...

ah, you're probably right. I guess it was the earlier vomits that were falcon based.

gawd, I once had to drive a friend's mom's mid 70s Vomit from SF back to Monterey via Santa Cruz, in an unholy heavy rain storm over the infamous highway 17. scariest car I *EVER* drove. I think those 70s Vomits were Maverick based. heavy car, skinny bad tires, marginal brakes, sloppy steering, mushy suspension and no anti-sway bars.
