    Okay so I will be doing this BHLM w/o all the fancy gadgets like halos and new projectors..I will just be blacking out my headlight housings. I have the Morimoto Metrorubber on its way now, just needing to buy the paint. Now which is the best brand to go with? Fusion or Rustoleum? And do I need to scuff/sand and usa a primer before painting? or what would be the best method for the paint to stick?

    @Leo4x2 I just finished mine up yesterday, same as you, no fancy business. I used Krylon Fusion, no scuffing or anything. I also used a lens tint for the side blinkers. I think I put a little too much on, whoops. But I like the way it turned out

    @TyGuy1 hey man that looks awesome!! I love it! Did you have any nicks/chipping/smearing of the paint after you applied and dried it? Sorry still trying to figure out if I need to bake the housing after applying the paint or not. I need to find that video on youtube of the guy that recorded himself doing his lol. I also bought smoked reflectors to replace the yellow ones with so I won't need to spray them.

    What do you think about painting these parts on the blinker/parking reflectors and the high beams reflectors? You think that will affect the purpose of the reflectors or not really?

    @Leo4x2

    No chips. The housing did cure overnight before it saw the oven again. No paint damage I've seen. That's a single piece that comes out. I haven't noticed much of a difference.

    When you pull it apart you'll see what pieces I painted. I painted all the pieces attached to the lens (minus the DRL). I didn't paint any that were attached to the back part of the unit like the projector or any of the buckets

    @TyGuy1 Oh okay nice. And yea those pieces I'm talking about are on the back part of the unit I'm guessing. It's the pieces on the side of the reflector buckets, the horizontal lines looking piece lol. Sorry I don't make sense much. But it looks good! I can't wait to start on mine. And the paint you used is satin black?

    Yeah the lines haven't made too much of a difference for the signal.

    Yep Satin black!

    You will loose some side reflective light, but should not alter the forward visibility.
    Here's mine;
    [IMG]
    They are not blinkers. Just side reflectors with a little window in the middle for running lamps. It looks better blacked out.

    I know it's a different light but I like the idea of just pushing the old sealant down and not spending hours removing it. Anyone else try this?

    Those aren't perma sealed. It is butyl sealant which softens enough that you can do that. The stuff in our headlights is like a rubber cement. It doesn't turn into mush like butyl does with heat. So that video really doesn't give you an idea. That is Caesar rowinski which is who built my headlights BTW. Google Lightwerkz perma seal for a better idea of our application.
