I've been wanting to put one of those in for a few years. Haven't gotten around to it.

I remember seeing that post now that you show us, I have never seen one of these in a residential application. Is it really worth the added cost?

I paid $285 for the opener in my opinion yes its worth the cost. I have the battery back up as well and it has a dead bolt lock that locks the door

Nice. I want to do this at the new place to free up overhead storage and some hoist area.

Did you install it yourself? I imagine it can be retro fit to pretty much any brand residential roll up door, right?

    Cost?

Edit: oops, just saw the cost, thanks.

    Need y'all's input.

Our lot (3 acres) has a second homesite that a previous owner had planned a small MIL suite for.

There's a separate electric meter, and septic for this site, along with plumbing for a propane tank.

I'm on a well for water here.
At the pump house, the main line is diverted into two lines. Each has a half-turn shut off handle.
One feeds the house. The other... I'm not sure.

How would I go about finding where the second water line runs to? (Besides just opening it up and letting it run and waiting for water to show up somewhere!)

A plumber using sonar or ground-penetrating radar.

Besides turning it on and waiting for a geyser if it's not capped means getting a line locating company out there. I would have hoped they at least put the other end in a vault or box.

Theres a large round place where all the septic stuff is. But I have not seen any typical box for a water outlet/spigot...

In that case you need a dowsing or witching rod. :)

Check with your county for records. I know mine has records for septic layouts and stuff and also included in one of the records was an approximate routing of my water line from the well to my house. Might be something there. The records are online for me so pretty quick and easy to browse through.

Next step for me would be to just run it for a couple minutes when the ground is dry then go looking and see if you can find it.

I did all our property records searches when we bought the home. There was not such thing ever filed with the county here. (And our records are not on line - unless you pay - and even then its limited as to whats there.)

I guess before the real drought sets it, I should just turn it on for a bit... ground is dry enough already that it would show if its not capped off somewheres...

Picked up a 2015 Troy Bilt Horse for $200. The steering gear was worn so yesterday I took it out and new one is on the way. So $233 for basically a brand new lawn mower. Just wish the parts would hurry and come in so I can get this jungle mowed lol

Edit: Ohh yea and the seat broke off but the woman didnt know how to put it back on correctly.

We were spared. Just updated the house. It was a rental before we bought it and was last renovated in 1995.
