Just saw this tag. Posted in your other thread, but it really isn't that difficult. If you were relatively closer, I'd help with install, but it's just a matter of soldering the right connector on the harness (+/-) and adding your switch (a little tricky). Given that the switch included with the pre-made harness most likely will be "constant hot" you might have to splice into an "ACC-ON" circuit to get the new switch to light up like your stock switches do and not be lit up all the time even when the truck is off.

    Prinsu Rack:
After 6 weeks I came home to find a 90 pound box on my porch. I eagerly ripped it open and began laying out all the parts to get my head wrapped around the install. To my frustration I was missing a pretty crucial part of my rack, the side plates for my top rack was missing along with 3 crossbars. To say the least I wasn’t pleased to have waited all the time I did and not have everything inside the box. I immediately reached out to Zach and got an email within a few minutes. I expressed my frustration but he immediately made it right and got it shipped out the next day. I understand when you operate a business that has so many parts required for assembly that it is quite possible to mistakenly not put all the pieces in the box, but I'm glad that issue was quickly resolved. The side plates and crossbars should be here by tomorrow.

Moving on, I did have all the materials required to install the cab rack so I figured I would just jump on that so come Tuesday I will have a lot less to do. I chose to drill into the weather stripping rather than just removing it, looks cleaner in my personal opinion. Looking back on it I now realize I was underprepared with the tools I had on hand which explains why it took me so long to get it perfect. Had to use a jig saw to cut the inch spacing required from all of the drill locations and then used a 3/4th bit to drill the holes for the spacers in the channel.

(Assembling the rack on the truck)

The rest of the rack assembly was a piece of cake. Took less time to assemble and install the rack then it did to prepare the weather stripping. I did the install alone so I went the route of assembling the rack on my truck rather than pre assembly. Got the side plates on and drilled them into the cab, then installed the crossbars from there. I opted for the noise reducing edge trim, trucks already pretty loud but I’d figured I would do my best to not continue to contribute to that.

    (Rack all done)

All and all I’m very happy with it, looks incredibly clean and to my surprise it is very sturdy (with just how light the side plates are I didn’t expect it to be all that solid) once it was all assembled. Looking forward to mounting my light bar this week and getting the top rack on tomorrow.

Yea in that case probably not the best idea

On another note I'm kicking my self for not having purchased the wiring harness from TRF.... have you got yours wired up yet?

Your good man, I appreciate the info you added on my other thread! I got a lot of good info, going to give it a shot tomorrow.

Haha no better way to get it started, crack a beer and take your time. Are you planning on drilling into the weatherstripping?

All my wiring will be done tomorrow hopefully so I will have some pictures for you hopefully. Share some pics when your done!

Happy with the Tires, road noise is significant but I guess that's why I don't drive a Prius

I used the exact same bor 3/4th bit, only piece of advice I have is make sure you have something better than alligator clips to hold down the stripping while you drill into it. That is 100% where I feel I struggled the most cause it would always end up getting wrapped up in the drill.

Good luck, want to see you truck when its installed

    New Headlights:
I have been researching new headlight options for a while. Really struggled deciding if I wanted retros, DEPO, or modify them myself. The problem with retros is the price, DEPO look good but are still very simplistic, and without a secondary set of headlights I wouldn’t want to risk modifying them myself. I came across a company on Instagram, UniqueStyleRacing, and was really stoked on the set that they sell. Long story short picked up a pair of headlights. Some of the big features are the blacked out housing, projector lens, and the led accents in the lights. The price was right for them and it gave me a level of complexity in a headlight that was just what I was looking for. Really think it fits the build with the blacked out housing and the light output is substantial compared to stock headlights.
