    @MotoEd I don't know the logistics behind it because I was too young, but my dad bought my first dirtbike off ebay. Seller was in Georgia and shipped to CA. All worked out well (it was an XR200)
    I'd feel comfortable using ebay, plenty of buyer protection between their policies and paypal. Granted, as stated above, a trip out there would be the best option.

    Turned out it was a scam. Quick Google Search came up with a bunch of people hit with the exact same scam.

    I think it was posted on Craigslist if I read properly. Which in that case, definitely a scam. Which we now know.

    Yeah it was posted on Craigslist but the seller wanted to make the "transaction" on "eBay" using eBay gift cards.

    I bought stuff in excess of $1000 for turbo related stuff for my car. Even when I got the wrong stuff, ebay refunded everything I was owed and I got to keep the wrong parts because the seller never responded to any of my issues :thumbsup: As long as ebay covers it then I wouldn't be too worried. BTW yes ebay and paypal are almost the same. They recently separated but they do cover their customers. As many time as I was scammed... ebay and paypal came through for me. I've been buying stuff from ebay ever since they came online :thumbsup:
