Within the last few days my truck has popped up with an error 3 different times after I've started it. The message on the dash says "Check ABS System". The ABS light and Traction Control light come on. The issue that I'm having is that if I shut the truck off and restart it, the code is gone. It's only happened a handful of times and the dealership said they couldn't replicate the issue. Anyone else have this issue?

Truck is 4x4 AT, if that helps.

Are you part of the CPS recall?

I'm on my cell so searching is a bitch, but I want to say people had weird lights with the cps failure.

Do you have a lift? Big tires?

I have the same thing happening to to my truck as well. Some times I have to turn it off and on 4 time for the ABS light to go off. Ill have to stop off at the dealer next time it happens and I will report back with any Info.

If the dealer can't reproduce it, film it next time you start the truck and it happens. I assume the light stays on until you turn the truck off? Film the light staying on until you turn the truck off and start it up again.

My 2017 Tacoma put up the warning signal for "check ABS system" with the two lights on the dash. Did anyone find a resolution to this problem because I couldn't find one from my research, or is Tacoma not wanting to recall because too many trucks would need to be?

Are they disabled? Sometimes the wheel sensors may send a bad signal or maybe a wire was stretched or damaged.

They shouldn't be disabled. It happened one time before, and happened yesterday night and came on today as well. My truck is stock. Someone did back into my front right side tire and caused some damage. I don't it's that when I have read so many people have had this problem. My truck has 85,000 miles.

Mine had popped up the traction control alarm one time when I let the truck sit and idle for like 15 min. I cant remember if it did the abs too or not.

I had to clear it through obd and it never came back.

Also 2017 Sport, mines a DCSB.

So, after a few years of dealing with this problem, I took it to the dealership, I bought it at, and we got the codes, which was speed sensor and circuit break in harness. They found out that grease from the bearing going bad was getting into the connector of the ABS and possibly kicking the light and those codes. They replaced the bearing and cleaned the connector. Now I just have to wait for it to rain again and see if it makes it go off again because it would only come on when it rains. If it doesn’t, then we know that this fixed the problem.

Replacing the connector would make sense. If the connector leaked, replacing or lubricating the seal would be indicated.
As a minimum, lubricating the seal would be a good idea.

Well, I hate to inform that it did not solve this problem for me and the ABS and traction control light came back on as soon as it rained.
