Make sure they get rid of that little useless corner on the right of this photo. If they're already going to rip out the shower, there's no use in having to re-add a little corner that's hard to clean.

Oh yeah. they are taking out the entire wall. The shower is going back towards the closed door (attic). Getting rid of the nook. and then having a linen closet in front of the shower.

The contractor said that both sides of the shower was just wasted space. He said they were going to fix that issue.

Especially the right side of this photo is wasted space. That side of the shower should have a pretty lady. Not some Manute Bol stand-in.

Wait. The shower is moving? Like toward the door opposite of you in my last quote?

Regarding the last picture your posted, the shower will be sliding down to the left. Getting rid of the nook. Then where I'm standing, behind me, there will be a linen closet.

Oh! Ok. I get it. Are you getting a bigger tub, or is it going to be a walk-in shower? The only reason I'm asking is just because I'm thinking of the plumbing beneath the shower.

My bad for the confusion. And its going to be, I believe, 4'x4' walk in shower. The tub was a bad idea from the get-go....

I completely understand now. That's the same thing I would have done. I've installed a few walk-in showers (one of which was a "roll-in" shower for a handicapped friend of the family) and they are great.

It's like showering at the gym but without the fungus and awkward stares.

My bathroom wasn't meant to be used as a bathroom. More of a Bonus Room bathroom. So there were some cut corners.

Oh yeah. I like the walk-in showers alot. I dont have to duck to get in, and I can have a seamless door. :)

The only thing is about the walk-ins is the water pressure coming out of the head. its always real low. That will change as well.

The easiest solution to the lack of pressure is to add a 2"-3" ledge at the bottom of the shower. It's low enough to still be easy to walk over, and high enough to hold in the water. You can run a fire hose (not really) in the shower and not have water splashing everywhere. The roll-in shower conversion I did had a 2" hump and we didn't mess with the water output at all. It still kept all the water inside during a normal shower.

New discovery today. The tub was 3" above the ground, so There will be no step to the shower. Mostly everything is knocked out right now. Pictures will follow.

What is really cool like at nice hotels is that the whole floor is the bottom of the shower. like 2 drains in the bathroom and shower heads everywhere.
