Very cool. Will wait and see. :playball:
I still have a lot of meat on my tires, so there is no rush.

Glad to hear....I am also considering upping my wheels to 17" from my planned 16" because there are more tire options in that wheel size. I really don't like my sport wheels and I really do like the TRD Pro wheels so those are at the top of the list right now. Once my suspension was done I was able to install my 1" BORA spacers which give the truck a much better stance and my tires are not even close to rubbing. 255/80R17 FTW!!

There definitely are more choices in that size.
    Kinda wish I had gotten 17s. :(

The more I look into this the more I'm leaning to 17's. I really like the Cooper ST Maxx but Toyo has their Open Country R/T which comes in 255/80R17 and looks like another good option. Live and learn I guess...

slight correction I'm actually closer to 1,500 miles haha been enjoying driving it so much didn't even realize it.
I would always from now on recommend 17 inch wheels. It helps if you are in a pinch you can find used Wrangler tires or Silverado tires on Craigslist

Had a fun weekend camping. Got rained out the first day so that was pretty shitty. But other then that was a good trip. Realized need a gear strategy re-think. Awing for sure for rain cover. And liking the idea more and more for a roof top tent after seeing my brothers on his Jeep. Other then that just consolidate the gear more better storage and such.

Looks like fun. Truck looks good....did you end up removing the wheel spacers? If not, any rubbing issues? I'm asking because I recently found that my front passenger tire is just rubbing my mud flap when turned to the right (about half way), when under slight compression. I'll have to figure out what's going on because if it rubs now it will be much worse next year when I switch out to 255/80 tires. Not sure if it happened after my alignment but I just noticed it this morning. Alignment numbers are good with 3.1 and 3.2 castor and JBA UCAs.

I still have them on. I was planning to remove them when I did the next tire rotation.

You are still on stock wheels with 265/70R17 right? So I had that issue on my last Tacoma even on a 3 inch lift with camburg upper arms and 265/75R16 but the Level 8 wheels I had were 4.11 back spacing so they stuck out a good amount. You might actually have to ditch the mudflap. Those things do stick out a good amount. Or you'll have to trim them up. Now when you go to the 255s remember is a narrower tire so it actually should help decrease the chance of rubbing in certain situations

I have about 4k miles on them right now. So far so good seem to all be wearing well. Right about to do a tire rotation before a road trip next weekend. Still averaging 18-20mpg (got 21mpg once!) and that's with daily commuting, traffic, towing, etc. Took a little while getting used to the spedo being totally wrong now. Like 65mph indicated is actually 70. Tire noise is about the same from new, they've handled towing without any issues. I did notice a little lack of power going up hills, but honestly with the manual transmission its not to bad. I could see how the automatics would hunt for gears.
I haven't "pushed" these tires yet. really just been pavement pounding, some dirt roads and some through the fields/lawn driving. In rain haven't had an issue. I've broken them loose a few times now though coming from a stop in the rain. They make a very distinctive slippage sound haha. Not sure what that was about just kind of figured the pavement was little oily since it was the first rain in a while

Also slight possible chance might be switching to a 4Runner or an automatic Tacoma (either 2016 or 2017)... Family is growing and the wife hasn't been able to master the third pedal... But we shall see what happens

Decision made keeping the truck haha
Probably get the wife a lease in the spring. Need the truck to much.

So did a tire rotation and now I have a pull to the right and a shimmy in the wheel. So see if Firestone can straighten it all out on Monday. Have a road trip planned to Michigan next weekend so would like to not fry these tires

It seems like a wheel ballance since it's got the shimmy. But it also has a pull so would say alignment. Before I did the rotation everything was spot on, but doesn't make sense since the rears were perfectly flat wearing

yeaaaa it doesn't make sense to me. I had a very slight pull to the right before the rotation. Didn't really think anything of it since it figured it was the road. After the rotation its a very significant pull so I'm going to have them do an alignment first see if that cures it

front wheels were out of balance and the alignment was out... so now I have lifetime alignment at both sears and firestone.. yay... They didn't really want to honor the fact that they just mounted and balanced these back in May so I'm a little confused why they went out of balance unless I lost a weight. So they put the stick on ones in the front now. Now more shimmy. Course I have this freak out it still pulls to the right but the ride home will determine if its just me.
