Please post pics when you get a chance. I've heard a lot of good things about those rifles. How long was the wait to get it? That M4 stock on it is gonna be nice.

first impression, its very light. I got the Krebs safety and it is much more ergonomic. Haven't shot the rifle yet but it feels great in the hands. Also I got an RD-701 not the 702, I have the triangle folder! edited original post.

I got a Krebs safety for my Definitive Arms AK74sr. I actually sent it to the D.A. and they parkerized it for me. Cannot get it to work. It's such a nice part too. Really bums me out.

So, ended up putting a few hundred rounds down range this weekend. Let my Step Dad shoot my AK. Man, did he enjoy it. He's actually thinking of picking up an AK at this point. He really like the 5.45 x 39 round. I wish it was more popular, it's a great shooting round. Shoots so flat. If you've ever had doubts about 74s don't. They're awesome. Still can't decide what my next rifle is going to be. Been thinking AR, but really would like another AK.

I've tried a few ARs and I do like them, but just really love the simplicity of an AK.

Was the safety not engaging or was it just really hard to move?

Weird, they are usually tight, I was going to tell you to bend it outward slightly. Only Thing I can think of is maybe the spring being installed backwards?

Much jealous. I want an SBR AK pretty bad. Now I'm sure you never let that arm brace touch your shoulder to you LOL!?

Doesn't matter anymore. ATF reversed that ruling earlier this year

Had no idea, thanks for the tip. You like that rail on your top cover? I've been thinking of getting one vs a side mount.

Yep, shoulder away lol. I do like the top rail cover, it holds a zero nicely. It's the Texas Weapons Systems dog leg 2. I had to dremel the shit out of it on the inside edge bc it was slightly too narrow, and it would pinch the bolt in the rearward position just enough for a FTE. It's also overpriced for what it is in my opinion, but still the best option for top rail.

If you're looking at side mounted rails, check out Kalinka Optics. They make a quick release one that is top notch. I've used 4 or 5 different ones over the years, and theirs is the best I've used, and good price.

Nice, had no idea about those either. Was going to get an RS Regulate or the TWS cover. Good to have more options.

Now this sucks. I'm glade I already have a VEPR. They are quite prized AKs for good reason. I believe this ban also includes Arsenal too. If you're on the fence about getting a VEPR you better decide quick. They're about to shoot up in value, like the Saiga did.

I hope this doesn't mean bullets are going to be hard to get. I may have to get an AR sooner than later, or I might not have a "sporting" rifle to shoot. I'm a bit worried.

I thought arsenal was Bulgaria. I dont think Arsenal is included.

Some Arsenal used to be Saigas but I'm guessing once they were banned Arsenal chose a factory outside of Russia.

Are there any quality US made AKs yet?
