Apparently Vegas already has three first round picks from team's making protection deals.

ya same with toronto I hate it. Everyone knows Matthews will eventually be captain so just do it now and get it over with who cares. Let the media make a big deal about it now and not later. If anyone has played in any competitive hockey they know its super over hyped and leadership is about a group of players coming together (usually veteran guys) who have done what it takes and lead by example. Not one single guy everyone stands behind

Hard to say. I am actually kinda happy he wants to stay. I really dont have an issue with his play last year, it was actually not terrible, more reminiscent of his days with the flames. With that said though I still dont get why Ceci is being protected, but not Methot. I can see age but i would much rather have Meth than Ceci against any star out there

Not a bad move, I guess. Still not sure if he is actually better than Elliot or not. Elliot just has those spells where he becomes inconsistent. Otherwise, I think he's really good. But Smith is solid too.

Smith is less likely to fuck them for a couple of playoff games, so it's a win. I don't think MAF was available to them. He probably only waived his NTC for Vegas.

I think Calgary was on his "trade to" list but the price was too high . . . So now they lose him to Vegas

Who do you think should get it? I was thinking Faulk, but I dunno.

As far as Toronto, I don't mind them not giving it to Matthews right away. Everyone knows he will get it, but there is no need to give a kid the C when he is just finding his way in the NHL. I never liked that whole thing that a young stud gets the C at 19 or whatever. I'd rather see a veteran have it and then hand it over after the superstar gets experience. Although I feel like Toronto is going to give it to Matthews soon anyways.

I think most people here agree that Faulk is the logical choice. However, I think they are afraid to slight Skinner and Big money Jordan Staal. Skinner has been working hard too though. Staal, not so much.

Ya, Faulk makes the most sense to me. Granted, I don't follow that team closely, but Faulk is a younger veteran. He paid his dues there and would be great to have the C, for all of the young D-men that you guys have down there. Skinner just doesn't seem like Captain type, to me. Good player but I just have a hard time seeing that guy as a leader. Jordan is a good guy to have the 'A' but again, I don't see him as a 'C', for different reasons than Skinner, but not a Captain to me, either way.

Blah, blah, blah, same shit story different day ... unload Gabs and call it a day. If AEG really wants a clean sheet, sure they could just fork enough dough to make something happen. At the end of the day, as long as LA is still selling out games, doubt they'll do much. I agree Brown's number is a definite future retired number for the rafters.

I randomly got a tag from the OC thread from earlier this month. Next time I'm out west I'll try and head down there, @TOY33 we'll have a nice conversation.
