285 will make the truck feel sluggish in daily driving, 265 will make it feel more nimble.

Which means more to you, clearance some of the time or a better feel and throttle response for the road and trail all of the time?

Might also consider 255/80/17 as a compromise, get the height without the weight or cab chop.

that's all I want to do is have a little wider width wheel and tires that stick out a little more and fill the wheel well a little bit. May go with a slight leveling kit or none at all, I like the way the stock height & ride is on my SR5..plus the bigger the tire you sacrifice mpg and the majority of my driving is highway and sometimes a lot of it...

265 70 17 or 265 75 16 is the biggest you can fit stock without any cutting or trimming and no rub for the most part.

    width wise, 265.
    Height wise a 32" tire

Rim size doesn't matter 16 or 17. any wider than a 265 will rub under flex and full lock.
any taller than a 32" tire will rub under flex on stock height.

Wheel spacers make running worse because it pushes the tire farther out towards the firewall.

would it rub without the spacers then, on stock rims? Im trying to upgrade in size but would prefer to keep the 17" stock Sport rims. trying to figure out the best KO2s to fit, and with a 3" lift

From what i've been reading, 285/75/R17 seem to rub a little at full lock an/or full lock and in reverse. Other than those times, they fit.
I'm going with this tire size with a 3 inch lift also and Ia m trying to avoid spacers. I can live with minimal rub that has been described.

No no no. First of all, that size you're talking about 34" tires. You're probably getting the common 285/70r17 or 285/75r16 which are both the same sized 33s. Secondly, you're wrong about it not rubbing. Maybe when you're driving in a straight line on an even surface you'll be fine, but as soon as you hit a bump or turn, you're rubbing the cab mount.

You can't fit wider than a 265 on stock wheels. Any wider will rub the UCA.

yeah I'd like to avoid spacers also. Are you trying to use stock rims also or do you have aftermarket? 275/70/17 is what i desire, just dont know if its gonna work yet, and havent found anyone that has it on the stock sport rim

ah, thats what i was thinking because my current 265s are pretty dang close to the UCA... would you say 275/70/17 would play nice if i got like Total Chaos or something? keeping the stock rim that is

I am getting them confused. I'm going with 33's so it is the 285/70/R17. I edit my previous statement replacing it with the 285/70/R17. Little rubbing happens with them.

I'm sticking with my stock sport rim. Aftermarket rims are not on my radar yet, heck idk if they will be at all. We'll just have to see if rubbing/clearance issues occur.

i can fix the rubbing, but i guess i just dont know if the tire actually fits on the rim. I know 265 is safe, but the wheel will take either correct?
