You're right around the invoice price at the $33,200. $32,153+ the added parts. All that really matters is that YOU feel that you get a good deal on it. The mats aren't anything special and the mudguards are priced with $200 additional labor. Not sure about the roof rack. Not a bad price if you want all of those though.

    7542 - TRD SPORT DOUBLE CAB 4X4 V6 AUTO.............. $ 32153 | $ 34705 * Invoice updated, no change msrp

Hey guys. New to the forum and about to purchase my first Taco. I've been shopping around and dealers giving me the run around and the best quote i got was $37,500 before TTL for this.
2017 Magnetic Gray Tacoma DCSB automatic TRD Offroad 4x2 with:

    -Prem/tech package with JBL
    -tow package
    -predator tube steps
    -exhaust tip
And some other small sticker options.

Is this a good price? Feel like i can get it down a bit.

What state is this in? CA?

Idk why people focus on the price BEFORE TTL. You still have to pay for TTL. At $37.5k you will be at or above $40k that is still coming out of your pocket for a 4x2.

Are you financing? Is there a down payment that will impact your total finance amount? Whats your estimated interest rate?

I financed $35k TTL included @ 3.15% over 72mos. thru TFS for a TRD Off Road 4x4 A/T DCSB w/JBL, Tech, Premium, Tow, and sunroof. I used the positive equity in my trade of $4k as my down payment AND they paid off my balance on the trade. Have also managed to not be on any recalls/tsb's. I dont plan on keeping this truck over the term of the loan. IF I change my mind and keep it, depending on current re-fi rates in a couple years, I may go that route, but I like new stuff too much. I havent made a down payment on a car since 2005, have always managed to gain positive equity in a vehicle and timed the new purchase just right.

Is my route the best route? Absolutely not. There are better ways if you plan to own and owning is always the better option, but not if you get screwed on the financing side. Cash is ALWAYS king.

We are being focused on price before ttl, because (as mentioned before in the thread) different states have different taxes. Or even none... So, whoever has to pay them, will think about them and maybe even include the amount in their post.
Im interested in how much people were able to save on the actual purchase price. I guess to give me a bit of a scale of what's out there and what's possible.
    Just my own .02.
Anyways, this whole forum has been a welth of information to me.
I will include all the info, when I'll finally pull a trigger on one.

This is in Mississippi lol tax is 5% here. I know how much i am going to pay in tax. I just wanted to see prices before TTL. Im financing and i have a trade in estimated at 11K for my down payment. Getting an APR of 2.8% also over 60 months. Do you think my price is fair or no?

Thats fair, my bad for being lazy and not reading the whole thread.

Being in AZ, $37.5k is on the high side for a 4x2. But just over in So Cal, autotrader shows around $38.5k for a TRD Sport with what looks like JBL, Prem and Tech (hard to tell from just pics) and around 36k for the same in AZ.

Good luck with your purchase, the best thing you can do for yourself is to know your number and stick to it. End of month/quarter/ model year is also a good time to try and get a good deal. ALL dealers have numbers to hit at end of month/quarter/model year, the key is to find the one thats playing catch up  and pitting dealers up against each other. From my experience, finding the dealers who will give you numbers over email that are at or close to what your number is will weed out the dealers who just want to run n gun on you. Then, taking those legit offers and walk into another dealer with them to see if they are willing to beat it.

That is what i was telling two seperate toyota dealers here and i am firm on telling them they can do better. Im pretty sure that price is MSRP with the options i wanted. What do you think would be a reasonable counter offer if you bought the same in your city?

Agreed, that would be my OTD price for a 4x2.

Appreciate the feedback. Hate when they say "but oh you want prem/tech w/ JBL too" i know damn well the markup isnt that high for that package

    MY 4x4 off-road was $34,100 before tax.
You can do much better with a 4x2 in terms of price.

At the top of this forum is a pinned post with MSRP and invoice prices for all configs and options. Be sure to add destination charge. Information is power.

So right now I'm bouncing back and forth between the 4x4 TRD Sport and OR. In my area the Sports are the same price if not more than the average OR which I don't understand. Why would someone get a sport over off road model when the OR offers more features for the same price or less. My issue is I don't off road that much and 4x4 would be used mostly for kayak trails and wet boat ramps so it feels like I'm going to get features like CC that I don't care about.

GA TAVT is 7%, are you sure your numbers are right? Those numbers equate to a TATV over 10%...

Sports and off roads MSRP for the same when equipped with the same options. I would assume the discounts would be the same.
If you don't off road that much go with whatever trim they give you the better deal on unless you value asthetics and looks more then get the sport.

I prefer the rugged looks of the OR more because it looks like an actual truck. I also find the Crwal mode, MTS, rear lock differential, and hydraulic brake booster as great features to have even though I don't off road that much. I only use my 4x4 mainly for the snow and drive on mild dirt trails to the river when I go fishing or white water rafting.

Taxes along with dealer doc fee, lemon law fee and DMV fees will get the out the door price to $36k.
Not sure what his dealer's doc fee was but those can range from as little as a $100 to up to $900 depending on what the state allows the dealerships to charge.
Some dealerships do not have a doc fee at all so it's different for everyone's case. That's why is always better to list the price before TTL since OTD prices can vary based on doc fees and state tax rates.
Edit: he said the dealership didn't have a doc fee so just taxes would be $35,903 plus DMV fee and title fee.
