Premature aging!

That would mean the end of this build. No amount of eatsleeptaco charm would save you from that one

 

Had a pretty successful day doing a few minor things that needed to be done in preparation for his maiden voyage this weekend.

I started with debadging the tailgate. What I PITA. I finally called it quits, but may tackle that again in the future. For now, it's fine.


I went ahead and did my rear diff relocate to behind the taillight. I find that's an easier place to put it and it's more protected back there.


Also cut my exhaust to dump over the axle. I need all the clearance I can get since I'll be on stock suspension.



There was this 4-pin plug holder welded onto the hitch, and it had to go. I'll rarely be towing with this, so I just zip tied the harness up out of the way and cut it off with an angle grinder.




Then there's this bastard. This is the bracket that holds the heat shield in between the exhaust and the front drive shaft rearward U joint. I had sheared the bolts off with my impact a week ago, and needed to fix it. I started by just trying to unscrew them. Obviously no dice. Then I proceeded to soak them in 50/50 acetone and ATF for 3 days. STILL nothing. So I cut off the excess, drill out the holes and used some bolts I had laying around. Good as new.






Removed the rear mud flaps as well, since state inspection is done.

I'm pretty sure that's it for today!! Still need to do the fog light mod (Keep forgetting) and wash, clay, wax this week. Other than that I think that's it!! Aside from getting the new tires mounted tomorrow.

The medical tape I had on there wasn't cutting it, so I replaced it with electrical tape.


EDIT: Also replaced the rear turn signal bulbs since I had new ones handy. The orange on the old ones was fading and chipping off.

EDIT #2: Did the hose clamp on the tailgate as well!

Thanks!! I'll get to the doors eventually once it cools down outside. Anything on the rear is easy because I can back halfway in the garage, but there's not enough room to work on the sides if I pulled in front ways.

Ha! I didn't know that Ghibli meant, but saw the Maserati symbol in the bottom of the screen. Hopefully one day I can be at that level, but I bet it didn't come easy!
