I'm pretty sure everyone on here has their method of removing seized bolts with pb blaster or other penetrating oil's but to those that are stuck in a jam and can't make it to the store here's a way to make your own penetrating oil.

Nothing fun but did change the oil (forgot how much I hate the placement of the oil filter) and air filter but it was better than being at work.

Yeah. Raptor liner. Line x whatever you want to call it. My clear coat was starting to peel off. And I knew no one wouldn't be able to paint my hood to match the rest of the truck.

Did the CV's my last two sets of days off, the lower ball joints yesterday, the rest today. pretty much the whole front end I think. Hopefully my clunk is gone now.

So had a close call with the drive shaft this weekend. For me, this begs the question of exactly what parts of the drive shaft I should actually be worried about. I know the tubed portion of the drive shaft is relatively weak, I just scratched that portion a bit. Looks like I knurled quite a bit of the pinion flange as well as the slip yoke, and of course ripping the zerk out in the process. That slip joint is a solid shaft right? But obviously the part it slides into is more tube like since it slides in, but how strong is it? I always never worried about the drive shaft because the gas tank would hit before I hit the shaft but I caved that in quite a bit too lol. I need to reinforce the gas tank, and put a lift in the rear which should help tuck it all a bit, but anything else I can do? TIA.

    haha :p

Not much you can do actually to project the drive shaft.

Didn't do this one today, but rather last year, but just happened upon this pic. Low Range Off Road gas tank skid plate is a quality piece, and a simple bolt on. Toyota original left a bit to be desired.

Yes, it was installed last summer. Still looks pristine, good powder coating job.

Lol very true. I was pretending my truck had jeep breakover angles. But the main shaft is pretty stout right? Like one huge chunk of metal? So if I spin on the slip yoke I shouldn't damage enough where I get vibes maybe?

Yeah I always liked the LROR one but I figured mine is still in decent enough shape where I can skin it in 1/8" and gusset it with cross bars on the inside. At least that's the goal anyway.

any weight on that driveshaft, while under torque, can be enough to twist or snap it. You really want to avoid hitting the driveshaft anywhere.

If it does not go away check your sway bar bushings. That's what was causing mine.

ThisVVV It is not solid. And any little dent can cause vibes really.

Why would you bother having a sway bar at all? haha
