Dang thats a good price. I paid $950 for a set of 35x12.50r17 general grabbers a few months ago and thought that was a good deal. You can't pass up $800 for a set of 35" KO2's

Doesn't seem to be too well liked on here. It seems if you're not running a 3" lift and BFG K02's your a douche canoe.

Well you're an inspiration to me. Im going for 9" suspension and you're the only one I know who's done it. And when mine is done it will be more hated then yours because I'm also going to throw on a 3" BL too. And some 38x15.50's. And 20x14 wheels. :anonymous::anonymous::anonymous:

so I'm biting the bullet on a set of kings coilovers for the front on a 6in pro comp lift. I called king and they said the springs that come with the c/o's for the 6in are 600lb springs when I asked them about swapping them for 700lb springs since I have a steel plate bumper, winch, compressor, and full skids up front they advised not to go anything above 650lb spring rates through them.
Any input from you guys or anyone running the King C/Os for the 6in DB lifts?
    TIA

Ahh this is a stellar debate that happens a lot!

Rule of thumb is +50# of spring per 120lbs IIRC.

I personally feel you should relocate the battery and go with 650# spring and a bit more valving on the compression side. You may be able to get away without relocation of the battery.
If i were the guy selling you Kings, thats what i would do.

You would need to go to Eibach to get the 650s, as King only has 6 or 700#

Ya that's what he told me about the springs. just not sure if I'm going to feel the ride is to stiff with the 700s or just go with the 650s. Right now my pro comp mx 2.75s COs set at stock preload ride like crap after 45k miles the road well for the first 30k or so but they also are sitting about 2.5 inches lower in the front now. Am planning on going with the kings with resi's and adj. valving knob so i'll have a little leeway.

Sorry for the off topic, but did you read my post in your MT thread about running a 650# on the drivers side and a #600 on the passenger side? Just wondering what your thoughts were.

I didnt see that man and I think that would be a bad idea. I really feel that he can address the issue with proper valving and 650s. Not just CDC, but actual compression side. Its OPs call, everyone jumps to 700s right off and later says the ride is shit later.

Are you saying that the valving is different on each side,or overall? Does that compensate for more weight and preload on the drivers side? I'm going by the rule that no amount of preload is going to make a spring hold more weight. I don't know that much about the valving of the shock. I understand compression and rebound.

Springs set ride height, valving sets ride quality.

Shocks have internal valving (shim stacks) on both the compression and rebound side and holes on the piston that controls how much oil passes and at what rate. The CDC sets the rates at the reservoir.

I agree with Jon. I'd go to the 650 spring and dial in the ride with compression valve tuning. That will make the up travel hits a little easier with all that weight extra weight and won't be overpowered by the heavier spring. You can't really "tune" a spring.... if you know what I mean.

    Good luck.
