I am a Springfield fan in general and I love my 1911 and my other XD as well. I have been considering an XD-E since the arthritis in my hands sometimes makes it almost impossible to rack a slide. So the fact that it's easily concealable and SA/DA is appealing to me.

 

Actually I don't. But do play others.

 

It's served me well. I used it when I shot competitively and had it for 22 years. Never had a fail to fire or jam in it. Has had at least 5k-8k rounds through it. It will shoot anything you put in it. From fully downloaded to +P+.

Does it stand out very much?

No, I don't own a store. I don't want to talk about it too much, but I work in the industry.

 

Mine are tight. I have to insert, turn, and push them in. They go in 1/4 of an inch or so into my canal, maybe a tad more. They aren't uncomfortable at all.

 

Take a look at the walther ccp. They have a reduced recoil and "softcoil" system in them. The barrel is fixed with a reduced tension spring, making it easy AF to rack the slide. I could do it with two fingers. Please research though. They had initial quality control issues with tool marks on the feed ramp, and a recall at one point. I don't know if they've got their shit straight now or not. The last one I fondled in a shop a few weeks back appeared to be good quality from my visual inspection. I have not shot one personally.
