There's a place in Luckenbach that is away from the tourist trap known as Fredericksburg.

It's much more difficult and technical than HF. I went with just 3" lift and 33s, no armor, and was fine, but I went with experienced dudes who kept me off the gnarly stuff. I wouldn't suggest just going there blindly unless your truck is built.

Hey completely off topic but can you PM your work address so I can swing by on Friday to pick up the skid plate? I am going to head up there around 11 or noon so should take me an hour to get there.

Favorite park in Texas. Don't get stuck on a red/yellow, especially solo. Reds will destroy your truck.

You eat the German food when you go to Fred's Burg.

A lot of people like the Auslander, but my favorite is the Rathskeller.

Can yall share some specific names of places? I am not too familiar with this area. I think a non-BBQ place would be great and a german place even better. I am working on the last leg of the run and it will lead us to what ever place yall suggest.

I recommend Otto's German Bistro, and I've been told Rathskeller is also very good. Ottos is a bit on the pricey side tho so be prepared. They also don't open until 4PM and are closed on Wednesday.

Also, at Ottos, the Duck schnitzel is delicious!

The people I would go with are significantly more experienced than me but I always like to have a feel for what I'm getting into.

Damn. My big ass 5th gen would probably not do a hand stand so well.

So fun times .. Last week I noticed that there was an issue with the "active shutters" behind the grill on my new truck. One of them had popped out of the track / mounting hole. It looked like it would be about 5 minutes of work to unbolt the stuff in the way to push/snap it back into place (was probably never installed right from the factory). Decided to play it safe and took it to the dealer on Monday. They are making a big deal out of it and want a Ford tech to come and look at it.

They offered me a car as a rental and I politely declined and told them I wanted a truck or SUV. They didn't have any loaners available so they said pick one and pointed to the lot. I've been thinking about an explorer for the wife and grabbed a 2017 platinum fresh off the lot (had to peel the window sticker off even).

Called for a status update today and they told me it's looking like Saturday or Monday for my truck. I've had meetings all over the place this week and have already put 400 miles on the thing... after the Dallas trip and whatever else I'm sure it will be over 1000. Going to be a funny conversation when they take it back in and see the mileage.

I'm wondering if they can even still sell it as new?

Well they shouldn't have made a big deal about it and get their stuff done :rofl:that's their fault for giving you a new car and not swapping it out when a loaner became available. They'll probably just use it for a loaner now

You paid top dollar for that truck, the absolute least they can is let you use a new vehicle as a loaner.
