Orange County CAF's: up to no good

Hitting Cleghorn this weekend on Saturday then camp and fish up in big bear along with some scouting. Should be at Cleghorn trail head at 8 am. Come join if you wish. Trail can.be easy to difficult. Difficult sections have bypasses from what I understand.

Big bear is on fire bud

 

I think the fire is all north east of bigbear. I would steer clear of bigbear. Going to be a traffic mess up there.

 

Still going, been up there before with fire. Planning on going up Cleghorn to pilot truck trail then from green valley into big bear. As far as I know I there is no fire there yet so it should be OK.

 

yeah 2x on what Danny & Ed said, I'd probably steer clear of big bear due to people evacuating, and traffic. I'm sure you're fine on the Arrowhead side of the mountain though

Take lots of pictures. My boys love seeing Firetrucks especially Firetrucks in action. The sit and watch YouTube of just Firetrucks driving by with lights and sirens. They get a kick out of it.

 

Hopefully you'll get to see some of those super tanker airdrops. Post some video of that.

 

I will if I can. I made a plan and I am sticking to it. I have changed up plans the last 3 outings. Not going to happen this time. I will go, I will try, and I WILL SUCCEED!

I'm wanting to go camping and wheeling this weekend, was planning on big bear for the past month but now with the fires that's a no go. Not wanting to do Joshua tree or anza borrengo cause of the heat wave. Any ideas? Something that isn't too hot and that is relatively close to OC (up to 3 hours)
