if they introduce something like that in SC i'm gonna instantly get some chronic back pain. after 6 months of specialists not being able to diagnose my problem i may suggest a mary jane script....

You can only get it in Jersey for a few illnesses. Cancer, MS, Aids etc. It won't be like it is in Cali for a long time...I've been looking into it thoroughly:D

Wow, look, a propaganda video citing no sources. Who would've thunk it?

I don't smoke marijuana, or tobacco, and have no interest in either, but all the fear, uncertainty, doubt about drug legalization is a hilarious load of manure.

Alcohol is plenty mind altering and damaging to the body. Tobacco the same. They're legal because they have big lobbies that write big checks to big senators. If weed is legalized, it'll do the same...and laws delineating it's acceptable use (it's illegal to drive drunk, if you recall) will be put in place.

Personally, I figure let 'em go ahead and legalize it. Tax it hard. It'll create jobs, and the Big Bad Fed'ral Guvmint can give me an income tax break and still maintain its present revenue levels.

Good lord who produced that garbage of a fearmongering vid? LOL talk about smoking wacky weed. Those people are full of it.

But that said, America's not ready for legalization. Decriminalize first. You should have the right to grow a couple plants if you want, and the right to possession in small amounts. The only thing that should be commercialized is the sale of seeds (which are not psychoactive and must be cultivated). But selling at Safeway and 7-11? We're not ready for that shit.

Enough of this "medical marijuana" BS.

Just decriminalize it federally and be done with it.

And make gay marriage legal nationwide while they're at it...and park the abortion debate, PU-L-EEZE...We have better things to do than waste time on these divisive BS issues

For the record...I'm a Conservative, Rush Limbaugh listening...Bill O'Reilly watching...Christian who attends church each Sunday.

^ what he said. My buddies have always done the dumbest shit while high. Mind you I sure didn't mind watching them when we were younger but now they could do it every day and then hell lets grab a bite mid afternoon stoned. Shit how many days did they cut school to get high, just imagine the days of work they would miss if they had jobs. If they don't work how do they pay for the weed? Maybe steal from their neighbors. I just don't see the benefit.

I don't care if people do it at their homes, but if it ever does get legalized it should be allowed to be smoked where tobacco smokers are allowed to, which is pretty much nowhere in public.

That could be the dumbest video I've ever seen, 1st off marijuana is non addictive, It is impossible to get addicted, proven study. 2nd off, it would not be sold in grocery stores and definitley not to underage kids. It would be regulated just as it is now in the 16 states that have medical marijuana. There would still be centers that are regualted to sell and there would be legal age limits. You would get a DUI just as you would if you were drinking and driving. You WOULD NEVER be allowed to use it at work, just as all the pill poppers should not be taking their over the counter opiates..vicadin, perc, darvacets. There are rules for those as well.

If you want to talk gateway drugs maybe folks should stop feeding their kids all the energy drinks with sugar and caffiene. Fast food with the grease and fat. Sugar and caffiene are the first substances that alter kids. How many 3 yr olds smoke weed? non!! how many kids get sodas at 3 with their fatty greasy burgars? almost all kids.

I know alot of you out there think this is the worst thing that could happen. Of those opposing this drug, how many of you feed your kids ritalin? How many of you are on xanex? Just because your Dr. says its ok and and he or she is getting getting kick backs from drug companies to stuff us full of synthetic garbage is it ok? Maybe take a minute to look at the other side.

It's natural, there are more ways than smoking to ingest pot. There are lotions, foods, drinks, tinctures. It is a natural substance that chronic pain users can take to get them of the junk they are on now. Think of the money that cities could make off of the taxes. In Colorado the Gov. just took 6 million from the medical marijuana fund to help with the budget. That 6 million was from the first 8 months of the big boom. There are over 60,000 patients in Colorado as of today, you can't tell me they are all 18-21 yr olds. Look at the Veterans who now can self medicate PTSD with a drug that is proven to help them with anxiety. Oh yeah and what if your mom or dad had cancer???? Wouldn't you want to do everything in you power to make them hungry after the chemo nuked everthing in their body.

I know we all have our view these are just my 2 cents.

Great response. I hope it works out just as you have stated. To the statement in bold I know a shit load of people that are in jail for committing crimes to support their addictions.

For the record I have had ADHD (bullshit) since I was 5. The doctors recommended all sorts of meds and my dad decided that if I act up I got the belt. Needless to say I got plenty of treatment. To which some think was excessive but I was not all zoned out at school and learned many years ago to control myself. To this day I fidget and talk fast when I get excited but I think this was the best route as I don't believe in the drugs that doctors push. Same as I don't believe in the pot. Hell its easy enough to get now.
But if they want to legalize it tax the shit out of it and only let them smoke it where tobacco is legal. Put the same laws into affect about driving under the influence and such.
I asked my uncle that is dying of cancer as we speak, if he thought getting high would make him feel better and he laughed at me. I gave him a run down on what I was thinking and he says it would absolutely help, he thinks it would allow him to relax and stop worrying about what will happen with him gone.
