I said it should... not that it did.

If you think $34,000 is not freaking expensive for a 'cab' with an 'empty bed' behind it, then you must be young or have an income stream of a political lobbyist!

    I said these days.
Find me something comparable for the same price.

I feel like you're not going to let this go. I dislike the dummy-assist electronics. You enjoy them. Case closed. Have a nice day.

Nothing beats the Tacoma, and that is why it commands such a high price. It is hard to find anything as well built and that can do as much, with ease as this truck.

Maybe if you didn't think traction enhancements was for "dummies" but benefits everyone who wants to drive dirt roads, less would be debated here? Spinning tires are BAD for dirt roads... it damages the surface and creates problems for others. Traction controls reduce or eliminate tire spin. Lowering air pressure is how we improved traction in the 'old days' and it is still valuable today. I hope that is not too techie?
Have a nice evening... no worries, ok?

Maybe if you didn't think your opinion was the only way to go, less would be debated? :hattip:

I'm sure a lot of people enjoy the "crawl control" or "downhill assist" features. Most of the people I know would never benefit from them in the real world. My wife has downhill assist in her 4Runner. I tried it once for fun. It's a great novelty feature. I feel safer controlling the vehicle on my own. You might not. That's ok with me if you're not comfortable controlling the vehicle on your own.

    To each their own.

The same rhetoric as always..the newer computer assisted systems still won't be able to allow the Tacomas to do the same trails that my fully locked Tacoma can easily do. Certainly can't out perform my truck that's for sure.

As always, have a great day!

Coming from a fully Locked F&R Tacoma (Just Like Monkeyproof) to a 2017 TRD Offroad Premium 4Runner WIth Enhanced A-Trac and Crawl Control, I will be the first to say that the A-Trac doesn't even come CLOSE to a Fully Locked Truck. David K, you really need to quit saying that its so great, and its a great alternative to Lockers. It sucks. Period. The first chance I get, im putting a front locker in it. You have a one-sided opinion, because you have never owned a car with lockers at both axles, you only know the A-Trac. How would you know? I'm here to put your "theories" to rest my friend. Its not an alternative, IT SUCKS!

Boys and girls, if you haven't read my posts over the past several years:
I am only praising the traction systems as a superior factory stock system over past and current traction systems on the Tacoma. As a product that comes with the truck and fully warrantied, the A-TRAC 'rocks'. Toyota does not offer front lockers. Clear?

Many years ago I witnesed a 1st gen 2wd tundra make up that hill when my group was waiting for our turn to start the decent down. That was one of the best shows of brute strength and driver talent I have seen while on the trail to this day.

As always, have a great day!

    Yes!
He backed up to take a second run at the hill and backed right into a sand dune.

The other 2WDs on that run all made it up. The video just happens to show the A-TRAC in action getting the thing out of the stuck and starting up the grade (the rest of the grade). Once I was over 3 mph, because the rear was locked, there is no throttle cut. So, I could keep my speed up to pull him (JAMES).

If I am not pulling a stuck truck (I have pulled others), then I only use A-TRAC and no locker so there is no spinning or trail damage caused by spinning. That is just one of the beautiful things about A-TRAC (no spinning when it produces no forward motion).
