I got a 2017 access cab SR. It has the solid rear window. I want to change it to a manual split window... I can't find anyone making them and the parts guy at Toyota was no help. He found a window for $900 bucks in his computer but couldn't tell me if it was manual or powered! Um ok then. Is there such an animal?? I called Safelite and JL. Both had no clue... My dog needs his window back! Any help greatly appreciated!

One of the glass company guys told me the opening was a different size... Meaning you could not take one from a truck that had it from the factory. Basicallt told me a solid window was the only option. Hard to believe. Are ALL the split windows powered in '17 or do some of you have the old school hand close and clip style?

I have a hard time believing that the window openings are different for fixed windows vs. split opening windows. Doesn't make financial sense for Toyota to have two different stamps and processes to make truck cabs with different rear window opening dimensions. Glass is cheap in comparison to the cost of making the dies to stamp the body panels. Could be the classic case of the the glass repair and/or the service department not knowing the answer and just saying something to move you along. There has to be part numbers structured for the rear window replacements. You may want to try your dealers collision center.

I believe the power rear slider is only available on '17+ TRD and Limited models with a double cab. All other split windows are manual.

This is the single reason I went with the convenience package over utility. Everything else could have been added pretty easily, but not that rear window.
