Your dealing with a half inch gap, the trim from Zach is pretty dense. I'll have to check on my lunch break but Im pretty sure with the trim the wind faring is touching my cab. Should cut noise significantly.

It's howling pretty loud. Yeah I was expecting it, just trying to quiet it down as much as possible.

If you get the gap closed it should solve a lot of your noise issues. I would loosen and move the rack backwards as far as you can and get the weatherstripping/trim for the deflector

Yeah the tailgate pad wouldnt work, so it would have to go on the Prinsu. Ill check out the Thule T2. it mounts on to the prinsu im assuming?

nvm just saw it, its a tailgate hitch. I would need something that mounts onto the prinsu to mount the mountain bike.

Truck has camper shell, a steel bumper with spare and swingout gates.

    Someone linked this earlier:

    http://www.isi-carriers.com/

They have a model that can be used to get around bumpers with extended items on them. I am working with someone local here to make some mounts to go on the sides of my mid height bed rack... should be significantly cheaper than these ISI carriers, but the ISI carrier is likely what I will look for to carry 4 bikes

I wouldn't want my hi-lift that high due to snagging on trees and what not

I felt the same way. Still figuring out different mounting solutions for the 60er

Roof rack or throw it in the camper shell. Mine sits in my toolbox or on my bedrack. But I've got the 48"

Just something to think about when buying a new bike mount.

While I agree that the mount is nice, just be aware that its going to be a more likely candidate for bike thefts. Around here, if you leave a bike that is locked (with the Thule lock and a secondary cable), it will deter the thief's very little. The whole bike is there and ready to steal. Having a fork mount means they would need to break into the truck to get the front wheel and also get the bike off the mount.

Thefts happen in the middle of the day in packed parking lots. It sucks, but after my first one was stolen, I used a locking fork mount plus a 3/16" or thicker chain to lock it down. That also made the overall height a bit less, and made it easier for loading on the truck.
