It was a cheaper design to having a repackable bearing that a sealed unit.

Maybe you should have asked on chevyworld forum, how to get the rotors off.

I've had moments like that where you go, "oh, duh, that's how it's supposed to come apart". Usually though, it comes apart easier than the method I was trying. Not so in your case.

I had access to the service manual through dealer connect the whole time... I was just too stubborn to look at it hah

After my experience removing the passenger side door lock from my Taco, I have learned to always look here before I try to take anything apart. I had the door panel off, pulled back the moisture barrier, got the linkage rod off, and was trying to get my hand up in there, having no success. I did a search here and found out its just a plastic plug and 1 bolt in the outside edge of the door. That's it.

You only go to the service manual when something goes wrong. To most of the world they are called instructions, to mechanics they are called destructions because we only read them when something breaks.

    I try to read them.
If you're anything like me. You're lucky if all you have to do is read the directions.
I've had to buy the parts again and start over. If only I'd have read the directions.
