It lived and got away too. I poked it with a sticker and it lunged at me and i had a flashback to my retired neighbor telling me about the copper heads in a stump next door before we moved in. I immediately swapped the sticker for a mini bat and tried to sweep it away from my truck. It was fiesty for a little thing. Yellowish color with black markings, maybe 7 or 8 inches long, too fat to be a grass snake. I didn't have my glasses or phone so I don't have a better description.

Ok now I googled copperhead I don't think that's what it was.

 

The only good snake is a dead snake! Fuck them all!

I've got a few living by my pond, they ate all my toads.

Toads are awesome. They eats lots of bugs. I've seen BFT (big fat toad) eat scorpions and not give a fuck. He's cool - hangs out under my front walk lights at night and eats the bugs that come to him. He also likes fire ants. We are buddies.

Sad/mad news now - the physical therapist at my FILs rehab hospital got careless today and yanked Dad's nephrostomy (tube that drains urine from his kidney) straight out...despite the fact that it was stiched in and taped down. Dad is now in the ER waiting on and OR and surgeon to put a new one back in.

I had to leave lest that PT and I meet while I'm still super pissed.

 

Since I got married, the frequency I get a handful has decreased significantly.
