I had an o5.Issues with clutch pedal squeeking and trans coming out of gear.windshield squeeked when hot.the factory left alignment tabs under the molding, after they were removed windshield noise went away. I traded for an 09...same issue with clutch pedal, just had it fixed for the 3rd time.radio was replaced also. the 09 at least runs on regular gas. I am not sure if I will buy another Toyota product. My 1986 4x4 pickup lasted 17 years before the frame rotted out

I have had ZERO problems with my 05, granted it only has 50k on it. But still not a problem one.

How are you getting that kind of insane mpg with a V6 DC? I've got a 2010 V6 DC and averaging 18.6, with the stock prerunner 245 tires for now.

The general consensus is to stay away from the first year of any vehicle after a model change to allow them to work the bugs out. That being said, my 05 has 84,000 on it and it is rock solid.

I think you're mistaken. Tacoma was it's own creation. The T100 became the Tundra and the trucks that Toyota was offering in place of the Tacoma before "Tacomas" were a thing were Hiluxes without the Hilux badge. That's why there's a 95 (first year Tacomas were sold, in the USA at least) Tacoma and a 95 Hilux. Pretty sure the Tundra came out in 1999, and the T100 stopped being produced in 1998. I could be wrong though.

2012 seems to be a bad year. That's when the whole limp mode came up due to an unneeded addition to the engine.

I love a good thread revival. I think this has a lot of potential.

Everybody hatin on my 05 :pout:

130k+ with none of the "common" issues.

My vote goes to the 2012 just because of the air injection crap, but I'd take those potential issues for the updated front end.

Actually I take it back. I don't think any one specific year is any worse than the next. :notsure:
