Rode a few intermediate Moab trails today. Chisholm, big lonely, big mesa and ramblin (Navajo rocks area). Good for a first timer in Moab (From Calif)

It was in the upper 80's by 10am... lots of sweating.

Did an easy loop at Dead Horse Point in Moab this morning...

If you have a chance, swing by Moab for a ride. I'd suggest the spring or fall though as it is 90* by 10:30 - 11am. (105*+ by 1-2pm)

    Yeah.
Beautiful shots there. I did Porcupine Rim a couple years ago, need to get back. Got a job in NW Arkansas and there is some awesome riding there to keep me busy for a while.

Just got my Industry Nine wheelset for my 27.5+ bike, headed out in a bit to break it in. BZZZZZZZZ, so excited! These things aired up tubeless with a floor pump, didn't even have to turn the compressor on. No pics yet, bike is still a bit dirty.

Nekked and afraid...........build swap from another bike happenin this wknd. Retiring an iffy frame and using the group on this build. Silver frame with full LX570 gunmetal bluish group. Will be rigid geared offroad V brake bike with 2.35's for suspension, lol. Posed up the front derailleur to see blue/silver contrast. Even got some Oury grips that color.

Best photo I have of my Orange ST4. Bought in 2010. Still bouncing down the CO trails on it. Thought the US bikers might appreciate a pic of a British bike not readily available over here. 4 inch back and five inch front. IMG_1073.jpg

When you get back to Moab, the Mag7 shuttle is pretty good. I'd recommend taking the Gemini Bridges exit instead of dropping Portal. The climb there is tough and the Portal descent is gnarly, lots of hike a bike. Going OTB on the portal trail has a high penalty.

On the way to the Portal trail.... taking a break in the shade overlooking the Colorado river.

The I9 hubs are pretty sweet, I see them at the Sea Otter bike show and drool when seeing them. Chris King's are pretty bling, Onyx are cool with 100% engagement, Hope's are also nice and affordable compared to the other high end hubs.

    Yeah.
I considered getting a custom set built, but everything I was putting together was coming out about the same or more as the I9 complete wheelset. They come prepped for tubeless with spare spokes and some other tiny spare parts I haven't figured out yet (proprietary aluminum spokes, but they are nice).

I only had a half day or so in Moab, and the shuttles had just started going to the top for the Full Enchilada, so I had my brother shuttle me up to Porcupine Rim. Still didn't finish in the time I thought I could, but some of that was because I missed a left turn (where it switches to hikers and bikers only) and was off in no-man's land for a while. Had to backtrack a bit, but not until I caught some extra awesome scenery. Being lost by yourself in that terrain is kind of humbling but exciting at the same time. I've done a bit of cross-country backpacking and am pretty good at finding my way, but how I missed that turn is beyond me.

I was on a whirlwind tour through Telluride and Utah. Got to ride Prospect Loop up in Telluride, and took one run down one of the downhill trails on a short-travel 29er not really suited for the job. I highly recommend a stop in Telluride if you have the time. The gondola from the town up to Mountain Village and the trails is convenient and free, with bike racks. And about every third car has a dog sticker on it, so you can take your dog up as well.

I have the luxury of owning a bicycle shop and get a new bike every year. This is my current comfort be damned rocket ship.

I'd like to add that my shop carries Giant and, if there were enough interest, i could offer a group buy on some bikes.
