Mmmmmm fresh honey! Worth more than gold if grade A per ounce I think.

1 time I was in big bear and ladybugs where everywhere you couldn't avoid them after we noticed the trees and ground where moving.
Was like some Indiana Jones type shit.

    Love me some nature!

The bees were swarming like mad about ten minutes before I took the pic. I was in my garage doing some stuff and they invaded. I had to jump in the truck. Full hive migration and they were pissed about it.

I have seen the Monarch butterfly migration when I lived in Idyllwild. Without a doubt the trippiest bug thing I have seen.

Look up your local bee guy. They'll come over and remove them for free. My neighbor is one (forget the technical name) and this happens multi times a year in my back yard. Fresh free honey is da bomb! Plus, I'm pretty much immune to bee stings now.

Also, there is a monarch preserve a couple miles from my house and when it's "in season" it's INSANE to see them in such large number!! Super cool for some one that's never seen it!!

Agree ... I've seen (twice now) a huge black ball of them, around the planters, just off the Pacific Ocean @ Huntington State Beach. The State has them moved to a more remote location before it's a problem ... funny how they can grow in a spot seemingly overnight !

Generally the queen leaves and the bees follow. I have no idea why she leaves though. It can happen in about 30 minutes actually. Kinda wish I had my go pro setup to capture how quickly it happens!

Called my buddy who works for animal control. He said he has seen this occurrence many times this summer. He said the queen is scoping out a good site. Secondary queen he said. If a hive is very successful a second queen will branch out and take part of the hive with her. Cool stuff.

I wonder if the gay bees follow the queen or revolt in some sort of gay bee parade in the sky.
