Nuthin crazy, but finally caught my first dash cam capture that was noteworthy the other day. Ran the stop sign.. NO other cars behind me so she could've waited 5 seconds, instead of making me slow down. Which is annoying as fuck sometimes that people can't wait on this highway. Happens often. But she punched it as soon as she saw me behind her and continued speeding up probly 20mph over the speed limit. Caught up to her 3 minutes later, she punches it into the turning lane around the car she got stuck behind, only to get to a red light. Stopped beside her until she noticed me to give her the virtual thumbs up (for all that time she saved) with the 10 second glare I gave her. lol.

I'm on my 3rd dash cam. Super happy with my current Thinkware F770. Just hope it lasts more than a few years since I dropped about $400 on it (I got the optional rear facing camera). My first cam was a Mini 0801 and it was a great little cam for $90 and lasted about 2 years. Then I got a Mini 0805 and I did not like it. Didn't even make it a whole year. Keep in mind though, I live in Phoenix and the summers are fucking brutal here. The Mini 080x cams are great for easy removal from their base. I always stored them in my center console when not driving. The Thinkware F770 is a bitch to remove from the base. The power cable requires you to pry it out with a key, otherwise you'll probably wreck the cable/port by pulling on it and my fingers are too fat to reach into the recessed area to pinch and pull them out. I can snap a picture if anyone is interested. So basically, I leave it mounted 24/7 and do my best to park in the shade or away from the sun. I've also disabled the parking more feature until the triple digits of summer go away.

Also have the A119 just without the GPS. It's a DAMN fine camera for under $100. The quality is amazing!

That really depends on what you want out of it.... There's a wide range of price, features, etc.

I have a Thinkware F770 dual-channel in my Tacoma, and a BlackVue DR650S-2Ch in my car. I wanted parking mode and both front & rear cameras. Shape / fitment is slight different between them is partly why I didn't go with the same for both vehicles. I'm happy with both though.

Check out BlackBoxMyCar.com for a lot of info on various cameras and capabilities.

Just found this thread, it amazes me the stuff that happens out on the road (how many idiots there are).
Here's me getting rear ended in my taco. Language warning! I saw the guy coming, but had no time or anywhere to go. My dash cam ended up on the passenger side floor. No injuries, (other than minor soreness). I hit the car in front of me, only lightly though, just tiny scratch on thier rear bumper and minor damage on my front.
His work van was wrote off. I drove away, but ended up being over $11000 in damage. All fixed and good now though.

Here's one I caught while in my rental f150 while mine was getting fixed. I saw in the distance something lifting off the roof of the car ahead of me while on the highway. I could see what it was when I got closer, and said, " I'm not staying behind this guy", and I just happened to catch the inevitable as I was passing them.

Luckily didn't hit anyone behind them.

Caught this one a couple weeks ago.
Don't mind the overreaction from me and my wife, but any bike I see fall is a disaster in my opinion, lol!

I helped the guy pick.it up, and he said he was just learning.

I just watched way too many YouTube reviews of the Viofo A119 and A119S. LOL

My GoPro Hero 4 Black has been acting up lately. Freezes all the time and then won't turn on/off. Corrupting video files. The USB port is getting fickle (charges, then won't, then does). Anyhow, I purchased a new GoPro Hero 5 Black to replace it. Found out the hard way it's stupid (you cannot leave the USB port door open AND mount the camera - thus I can't power it all the time). Changing batteries constantly while driving is not gonna work for me.

So, for $119 the Viofo A119S will do 1080P @ 60FPS, supports up to 128GB MicroSD (just like my GoPro), and I can plug it in permanently. It powers on/off with the truck, displays video on screen (like my GoPro H5), and seems pretty damn simple.

So... anyone want to buy a GoPro Hero 4 Black that works half the time? Might keep the 5 for... I dunno... other shit. Maybe. We'll see.

I know, crazy! That's why I left that part in. He kept driving erratically but you couldn't see it on tape.

Men - Please don't leave your wife stranded on the side of the road because you're too incompetent/lazy to hook up her trailer properly...

On my drive this morning I found a woman, Jeep, and trailer, blocking an entire lane where there was no shoulder (only a ditch). Poor lady couldn't lift the trailer to re-attach it and everyone was just driving past her. She was on the phone with her husband and crying when I pulled up to check on her.

At about 0:23 you can see the trailer is on the ground.

Thankfully they did have safety chains. Otherwise things could have gone poorly.

I like the specs and reviews of the anker. Wifi capability for a sub 70$ price point is appealing. I also have high confidence in the quality of the item as anker has chosen to brand it, anker takes qc seriously and I have had nothing but good experiences with their accessories and battery packs. Considering this for my rear facing cam, I plan to tap the power from the JBL amp and insert a 5v converter kit, I believe the 12v at the amplifier is hot only when ignition on.
