Kinda confused. While are people going through so much to paint these when they are just going back under the truck to take some real abuse? Worried about them rusting faster?

I haven't had a chance to load it up yet. Hopefully I can get the family out for a ride on Saturday :) I'll report back!

It's mostly that and I wanted them to at least look new when I installed them even if I know it won't last long. I wasn't going to do it at first but when the factory paint was peeling off with the shipping labels I pulled off I figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to give it an extra coat for protection.

Besides that I'm not able to install them quite yet and had just built a makeshift paint booth for my bumpers and figured I might as well put it to use doing something in the mean time.

For me just to add that extra comfort level... I'm often in marinas so any little additional added layers level gives me a little more comfort.

Gotcha. That makes sense especially if you already have an area to paint these bad boys

Springs are just springs but compared to how they shipped I think they turned out looking pretty good.

Did you take the pack apart to paint individually?

I had some semi-gloss that I had gotten to test out for my bumpers that I ended up deciding was going to be a little too glossy for that application so I figured I would just use it for this since the glossiness won't last long.

Took mine apart and painted them. When I put them back together something tells me that the top overload leaf (the one up from the very bottom) is on wrong. That top overload leaf looks fairly flat but I think that has a slight arch. Is it supposed to go with the arch facing up or down ? I put it with the arch upwards, like the rest of the leafs. I'll attach some pics. Let me know if this looks right or wrong ? TIA

Yeah It looks like you have them in upside down, the overloads should arch down. When I painted mine I tried to be very meticulous to make sure I laid them out in order and didn't flip them over or spin them around at all unless I did all of them... and I still somehow got one of the overloads flipped upside when I went to put them back together, luckily I noticed it before I bolted them together.
