Pretty sure the T4R Pro's do not have KDSS and the TRD Offroads do. That makes the biggest difference for me, ever though I don't know what KDSS is o_O

And T4R TRD's are all over the Bay Area lots.

I've never heard of the runners having faulty bags

I would've considered the 4runner if they offered a manual transmission

I think everyone missed the key point of this thread: the TRD OR has a hood scoop.

My 17 TRD OR w/ tech has more features than my GF's 17 4runner TRD off road and hers has every option.

What other features does the tacoma have that the runner doesn't? I didn't know there was a difference.

Color and more information (including nav directions) on the driver display (between tach and speedo). JBL audio. Sunroof. Parking sensors. Blind spot monitor. Fuel economy meter on the radio. Larger radio screen. Maintenance menu that tracks mileage on the radio and informs you when its due. Lane changing blinker. Auto headlights. LED DRLs. Electronic 4WD engagement.

17 4Runner has remote start, windows down through the remote (carista app), the 1GR-FE engine! Better stock wheels. Easier to do an oil change.

Are you sure you got the premium 4Runner? Pretty sure it has most of those features.

For example, I have a sun roof and al of the display setting you mentioned are on the dash not on the radio so I'll give you that haha. But if you don't have a sub roof, you don't have a premium.

She absolutely has the TRD Premium.

You can look at the toyota website for the 17 TRD Off Road Premium 4 runner and let me know.

You have navigation on your driver display? Custom colors? (pretty sure the 4runner is black/white) Roll/Tilt? Individual Tire Pressures? Speed limit? Tank MPGs?

I have a 2014 SR5 premium but I know the features of the trail/off road package.

It also has almost everything aftermarket so I can't even begin to comment on what I have. But I think @TK-422 and @RelentlessFab have trails or trail premiums and can comment. Or at least know more than me.

If you look on toyota and build an off road premium, it says comes with moon roof. Do you have softex seats?

I think the dealer might have sold you a base model and told you it was a premium.

Yes, softex seats w/ TRD in the head rest. The moonroof is an option.

Ahh they made it optional in the new ones. Used to be standard. Interesting.

Dylon is right on the taco having upgraded infotainment features. However all 4runners in Canada have a sun roof and soft tech seats. All trails have kdss (Canadian) and trd pros have the mirrors with blinkers in them (I believe the USA model does not, same goes for sun roof)

Trd off road Tacoma, IMO is not as upscale feeling as a 4Runner premium, its the seats, should have a trd premium option for the Tacoma. At least leather and power seats.

Premium 4runners here have signals in mirrors.

    At least mine does

I like the fact that the 4Runners have manual 4WD activation.

Best thing about the 4Runner trails/ORs and the Pro is the manual T case. Don't know why Toyota doesn't put them in the taco OR and pro.

Yeah that would be the main reason I would get a Trail/Off road over the SR5 I have.
