Nice looking truck, I've always liked the BBP. To be honest I think you can't go wrong with all the 3rd Gen colors, all really nice.

Looks great! Any chance you can take a pic of the front end a little bit further out? I've been wanting to get one on my black 17'.

Lol, that's a tough decision. What tonneau where you planning on getting? I just recently got a very nice tonneau for an excellent price. I really needed it as my second kid is due any day now. So that means I'll have two car seats in the back and I really need to utilize the bed space. I wanted to get either the pro fogs, trd skid plate or the tonneau. So of course the tonneau was the most needed mod for me at the moment.

I got the Extang Trifecta 2.0, it's very well made and does a good job keeping the bed dry. It was for sale on tonneaucoversworld for $399 and I was able to talk them down to $359. I also got a $40 mail in rebate from the manufacture so I really only spent $319, not bad at all for that cover. I'd check it out if you haven't already. The rebate is good as long as you purchase one before 6/30 and you have until 7/16 I believe to mail in the rebate.

Very nice truck! I wish my bumper caps were black too!!

I'm looking at the truxport roll up cover. I had it on my 2016 tacoma and really like it. If money was no object id get a retractable one. Those are badass!

It's my opinion you save that $300, and have a bit more patience.
I will explain my thoughts given the 3 options you have suggested.
    1. It's a truck. It's meant to look like a truck and work like a truck. Trucks have beds, and covering it up really doesn't do justice.
    2. I am sure a lot of people here have invested in wayy more than $300 (closer to $500 and more) and sure, the shiftsense throttle control through OBD II is one option.
Remember it's still a new truck, and you it's not going anywhere, especially since most of us have payments on our trucks.
If you could tell your wife, that you are saving the $300 and trying to save up some more $$ to add something to your truck to better your drive comfort. You don't have to go into details. Obviously she'd get mad if you put $500+ work on a brand new truck. So $$ you save, could it be a secret?
    3. The HP gains from the CAI is all questionable when you actually put it under test.
When you attempt to calculate pound feet of torque or Newton meters of torque and actual usable torque curve offered from just throttle control with a OBD override device or CAI, you will find them to be pretty puny.
There are so many different factors that come under play when it comes down to squeezing out torque gains and yield from an engine such as vehicles speed, alignment, wheels, tires, angular momentem, weight, fuel type, transmission, to just name a few.
Or what you could do is just save a bit more and get a proper tuning for your truck, and uncap the transmission gates. They could offer you a bench flash and our trucks would drive like an entirely different vehicle. Unlike the 1st gen and 2nd gen Tacoma engines, our model FKS engine does not allow, and was not designed with a super charger in mind - people here seem to forget this golden fact. All the solutions that are currently available for better pickup are temporary in my view. Again, all these are just my opinion.

They were great, but I knew I was going to have to change them up once I added a bumper and winch for the weight. I'll be posting the 888's for sale
