Thanks @Techoma. It's too hot to take a pic from the outside.

I'm told you can still get to Bear Canyon like despite the boundary fire, looks like it ends just east of knoll.

I'll check out FR300, had been looking around the FR9350 dispersed camping area but I think that's a little too close to everyone else for me. Its on the way up 300 so I'll probably check it out anyway.

I'm planning on going to Bear Canyon Lake Sunday. Picking up my buddy from Sky Harbor and motoring north. Been keeping an eye on the Highline fire all week and it looks like that area is "in the clear".
Going to take FR300 to FR84 to try and find a spot somewhere on the east side of the lake.

Since it's paved to Woods Canyon Lake I think getting into the dirt will help a little with the buttload of assholes that are likely to be up there this weekend.

Going to stay over Sunday/Monday nights and come back down Tuesday.

The other spot I'm thinking of checking out is over by Diamond Point, maybe just to do some wheeling Monday.

I think you outdid me on the code-brown low fuel level if you have the same 21.1 gallon tank I have...

In other news, Nationwide smart ride can eat a dick. I'm digging more into the metrics they use and (surprise) they are pants-on-head retarded if you know anything about aggregated statistics. I don't know what kind of crayon-throwing monkey they got to pen up their standards. To be fair I guess their job is to put it in their customers down to the hilt so maybe I'm being toooooo harsh.

Its idle time metrics (looks to me where they try to fuck everyone because of "stop and go" traffic) don't make any sense and literally incentivize drivers to California stop through intersections. Also the month and week metrics do not line up. For instance, to be "green" rated you idle less than 15 minutes a week- however the monthly "green" target is 29 minutes. Anyone with a basic grasp of math and how many weeks there are in a month can see the problem- if you look at your weekly summary (CONVENIENTLY enough the only report they send you without you having to dig!!) you can be green every week but put yourself well into the "yellow" zone on the way to "red" ... in fact you can easily have two "green" weeks and one "yellow" week, and end up "red" for the month... which of course affects your discount.

Oh, and also I have dash cam footage & lined up the timestamps of some of the "hard braking" events they've "caught" me in, which are laughable non-events. One such incident was triggered by going over a bump while slowing down for a green left turn arrow.:jerkoff:

I'm kinda thinking about selling my Tacoma and buying a 3rd (or 1st) gen 4runner. I just dont know if its worth trying to sell my truck. Its in great shape but its been modified a little and ive sunk a lot of $ into it. It's also got 230k on it, maintenance is all done/caught up but it's still a lot of miles.

I want a back seat for pups (and people i guess) and being able to put a platform in back and sleep inside it on trips would be really awesome.

    Anybody have any input?

I'm currently renting a place, well more-so house sitting for a retired woman, up in the NE catalina foothills off of N Sabino Canyon and Snyder. That will only be until she comes back down from SF in october-ish for the winter. I may try to stay with her to bank cheap ass rent or I may try to find a house or apartment or room to rent for a year or two until I can save up caesh for a house down payment. Assuming I like my job and want to stay in Tucson. Starting mah new job at Raytheon on Monday.

So if anyone is looking for a roommate... Free labor wrenching on trucks and cars in addition to rent :p

I love Tiff's 4Runner for loading the dogs and stuff. They get more room in the back. The only thing I don't like is it takes longer to cool the cab off vs my Tacoma. Remote start will take care of that.

Feels so good to cut off all the hair in the summer.

My longhaired cat is like a different animal once I get him shaved. Looks ridiculous but I don't have to clean up hairballs which is nice.

    [insert shaved pussy joke here]

I was looking for one before I ended up going with the Taco. They are like gold around here! I'd get a craigslist notification email, go to inquire about it...

I'm happy with my Tacoma but I still lust over the 3rd Gen T4Rs with the rear locking diffs.
