I have, and it's super easy. Might as well clean the throttle body while you're at it. Just need a toothbrush, rag and some cleaner.

 

Great, I'll use my Sonicare.

 

To clean it you don't need to take it out. Just separate the air box from the throttle body and spray it in there. There's a thread stickied with instructions on it

Thanks for the tips guys. I read the thread on cleaning the MAF and throttle body and looks super easy. I'll do this next weekend for sure! If your MAF is super dirty, can you expect a slight MPG increase once it's clean?

As the others have said, super easy. Just dont touch the sensor itself. And the throttle body is easy, just get some throttle body or brake cleaner and go to town. I took mine off so i could get at it from both sides ar 60k and it was pretty dirty. I run an afe stage 2 with dry filter. If you run oem paper ones itll probably be a little cleaner.

 

Yeah I'm really glad you guys mentioned to NOT touch the sensor, because I saw a vid on YouTube where the guy is literally brushing it, albeit gently, with a toothbrush. So just to be clear: it's perfectly safe to spray the cleaner directly into the opened throttle body, and any residue will be safely burned off from the engine?

 

Yep! Your truck may not want to start at first, but give it some gas and it'll fire right up. I used a flathead screw driver to open the TB and get in there real good.

 

Does anyon going tomorrow want me to bring my SWR meter to tune their antenna? I just tuned mine to 1 on channel 1 and 1.5 on channel 40.

 

Yeah you can spray into the throttle body. I wouldnt empty a whole can, but some is fine. Definitely dont touch the maf. Spray it with cleaner, but dont touch. If your maf happens to be fouled, i have an extra. Its buried in storage though

 

Mine was tuned last year. But im not sure if it will help to redo it?
