They're clean looking, I like it. Worth it if they're OE quality.

I was excited to find these but I would like em more if they had zero single led bulbs and just the led glow strips..

Intensity or diffusion. Take your pick:)
10ft back you aren't able to tell anyways.

The winjets are a good alternative to stock. Just not fond of the glow bar shape. Dear CHINA, We're not a Ford.

That's funny considering all of the tailgate designa look pretty much the same among all the car manufacturers. Lip at the top and that curved body line at the bottom. Ours just has "TACOMA" stamped in it.

Yeah I have trying to figure out a way to get rid of it also. It's one of the main reasons I didn't like the truck and had no desire to get rid of my 07. Crime had another plan for it.

I don't see myself jumping on these real quick if they were cheaper I would get em but now that there is one mass produced style I'm assuming there will be more to come. Who knows maybe Toyota has some plans for 2018 or 2019 Tacomas.

Too Ford-y. Besides, I've promised to put @mesojdm's kids through college, so thats where my monies usually go. Why quit now.

So can someone please explain just what exactly is wrong with the stock DOT approved taillights that justifies these LED taillights costing $380, and has anyone on the forum ever been rear ended by another driver who claimed that the reason they rear ended you is because they could not see the stock taillights on your Tacoma.

Personally the pictures of them lit up look like crap to me, and I wouldn't exchange my stock taillights for these in a straight up swap.

hey there Metal, I don't like this light as well. To answer your question, I think it's mostly because people like the looks of LED tail light. LED's have a sharp, crisp and clean output, and also could tell the profile of your light when it's glowing unlike incandescent lights we have now on stock. It's all about looks and feel and beauty in the end more than function if I am to be honest. I had both my tail lights replaced recently due to a hit and run driver. I'm pretty sure the stock lights work just as good.. The lights from this vendor looks too Ford like to me, and I don't like it. Plus the white glow LED looks a bit. A lot of people in this forum have their taco's as their last buy. If it were me, unlike others, my truck doesn't define me, and nor is it the most important thing in my life. It's practical to have my vehicle, but I am not too attached or obsessed with it. Some folks here are on a slippery slope, spending money into their truck from every single paycheck since they bought their trucks. Some of them lack perspective of this world we live in, of the poor that live among us, or have the purpose driven life. it's sad. Millions suffer all over the world, and a many among us get self centered. To me, this truck, like my other worldly things are not my precioussss. My priorities and goals and desires in life are quite different and simple and small things.

You also got to consider the fact that our trucks don't cost that much compared to other vehicles on the road (I know its relative. A truck like ours is more than most people could even dream of in some parts of the world including our own). Also, though people here spend money left and right without thinking much into their trucks, we are all poor. Hence why we drive a Toyota instead of an expensive BMW, Audi or supercars like a Lambo or Aston Martin. For poor people, the only joy and fun and simple pleasures they could have are what little they could gift themselves, or do to their precioussss. Some people add blings. Some people need an extra inch. Some folks need lights or braces... its all to make them feel better from all the other daily worries and struggles in our lives. Poor perspective sadly, but we all have been there. Myself included.

You need a new truck in this state to impress the fellow leeches at the parking lot of the welfare benefits office! Can't have the fellow freeloaders looking down on you now, can you? (I hate this state)

Back on topic: I think most just want LEDs (myself included) to get rid of those stupid 3157 bulbs that burn out with maddening frequency. Nothing like getting rear ended because you didn't know that your brake light bulbs had burned out two weeks ago and the dude texting behind you didn't see you were slowing until it was too late.

Rhetorical question: this is the 21st century. Why the hell does a 2017 vehicle still have light bulbs?!?!?!

For myself its simply that I like the LEDs and specifically for tail lights its the look of em. I started down the LED path when some of the first Nite Ize LED bulb replacements came out for my old MagLites. May be weird but even these days 10 years later I look at an unlit CREE MT-G2 LED and am amazed how this little clear blob puts out SO MUCH lite. :alien:
