I guess I will express an unpopular view on TW, I am pretty damn happy with my '17 TRD OR. I have put about 10k on it in 6 months in all kinds of conditions and situations and it has not disappointed. From long road trips to a quick trip to the store I have had no issues. Sure the seat comfort and 0-60 times can't compete with the BMW I traded in for my Taco but, for a truck it is plenty comfortable and powerful where it counts. The truck has handled blizzard conditions and searing desert heat like a champ and met the moderate off road challenges I have given it without any issues.

As for the complaints I read about most often my rear diff had a leak, took it my dealer, they replaced the gasket and bolts in 3 hours and I was on my way. Shifting issues that everyone bitches about were solved when the truck learned how I drive and I learned how it wants to be handled.

So all in all I'm pretty stoked with my Taco and I expected the next 190k to be just as good.

Sorry, I have only had mine one month and only put 3K miles on it in that first month. Sorry again, but my Tacoma is flawless. I usually put about 30K/yr on my vehicles though so I expect this truck will only last about a year before it done blowd up... that is if I listen to about six posters here. One of these days I am going to start a thread that contains a short list of those posters that continually post the same thing in multiple threads. Like we need to be reminded. One guy, bless his heart, has about a thousand posts on his rear end howl! I can understand posting when you have and issue. I can also understand posting to ask if anyone else has this issue. I can even understand posting to ask for updates. But posting about the howl in a thread about colors? C'mon man.

But of course you're happy with your taco, what's there not to be happy about or love??
I've got 22k on mine, no A/T issues no tsb, don't want or need it works great, I don't have voices in my head telling me I drive a pos, so I'm a happy camper.
But this may not be the best place to express joy, as this is a hospital and tacos come here to put prosthetic arms, legs, face lifts to cover old wrinkles and such and you could piss off some of those trucks.

    Ask me how I know!

    Cheers!

I traded in a BMW for my Tacoma as well. I agree with your assessments on this truck. I've only got 3,500 miles on mine, and I hope it continues to be this good for a long time to come

Well said, only thing I can add is that if someone have issues or dislikes about their vehicle, and if its still under warranty, why waste time posting about them here, instead of going to the stealer and get them taken care of??
I don't get. On a vehicle that's out of warranty yes, but those few folk post here to trash, not to ask for help or advice.

    Cheers!

I currently own a 2016 SR5 DCSB with 18k and freaking love it. But I'm trading it in for a 2017 Limited DCSB because I wanted a few other options. I'm hoping I love this one as much as the SR5 and that I can pass it on to my son in 9 years when he turns 16.

Great to hear OP. Its been a year, 27 days and almost 17k miles with my Taco . We had somewhat of a rough start in the first 6-months with the gear shifting. Two TSBs later and it's so much improved. I do have the diff howl but it doesn't bother me. Taco is not perfect, but no vehicle is. I'm really happy with mine as well and dare I say love it.

I have been without it for a day now and miss it. Someone hit me and it's in the body shop. Minor damage to the left rear door and rocker panel. They're replacing the door and the rocker is a costly repair. Initial estimate was $6500.

The rental they gave me is a Ram 1500. Big fast V8. Seems outdated on the inside for a 2016 Ram. In the words of Al Bundy, It's a Dodge.

Got my 17 OR DCSB one week ago. Drove it 200 miles up to Jacksonville and back. The first 50 miles on the freeway were awful, terrible clunky shifting. But after that, it was smooth sailing. Very comfortable truck. Only at 600 miles now.

After 40k miles on my M/T OR, I adore this truck. It's taken me on so many adventures and runs like a dream. Wouldn't change a thing!

    Truck stuff
There are plenty of us that love our trucks. We just dont speak out as much as the few with issues they cant stand.

I've had my truck for 10 months and just passed 20k miles. I didnt realize until after the trans TSB that I did have some of the issues related but they didnt bother me. Now the one thing that bothers me is that I refuse to drive my truck ATM and I am very sad seeing it in the driveway when I get home from work. It is driveable but I currently cant bring myself to drive it. About a week and a half ago my air blower went out so I currently have no a/c or defrost. Kinda a pain in the summer in Tx. It will be fixed one day but the dealer told me the parts on back order and wont deliver until around the 19th of next month... Still love my truck, shit happens. Just sad I dont want to drive it in weather with no defrost or heat with no a/c.

So let's start a cartel that calls out the habitual whiners that post one hundred times about the same issue. This place is invaluable if you have a problem and by all means people should post up when that happens. But habitually posting the same thing and stretching it out is just his skill. There's a lot more of us than them.
